A Dermatologist’s Guide to Sunscreen Formats.

Not all sunscreen formats perform equally in real life.

Shaka-shaka. Spray. Powder. Stick.
Each has a role to play, but each comes with trade-offs.

▪️Sprays are fast, but often under-applied and vulnerable to wind loss.
▪️Powders are convenient but rarely deliver adequate coverage.
▪️Sticks are precise, but limited in surface area and consistency.
▪️Shake-up formulas can separate and lead to uneven protection if not shaken well before use.

🔺These formats can support your routine, BUT they shouldn’t define it.🔻

Convenience often comes at the expense of coverage, consistency, and ultimately protection.

For your primary SPF, the standard is clear:

🏆 Cream-based sunscreen remains the most reliable format!
Allowing for controlled, even application and consistent protection across all exposed skin.

Use powders, sprays, and sticks as supplements or touch-ups.
But build your foundation with a formula you can trust every single day.
