This win feels particularly meaningful for us this year. While this award is for 2024, I am realizing that earning an award like this takes years of hard work and dedication to this business, our clients, and craft.

So to be real, I feel a little extra deserving this year! 🥰 I’ve worked hard for this! At the young age of 22, I started Lexi Lee Hair. My styling skills, clientele base, and portfolio were built from the ground up. Spending 8 years in this industry has given us the opportunity to truly build a name for ourselves. And I am proud of us 👑

When I signed up for salon ownership, there definitely were several adversities that I knew I was committing to: a greater financial risk, difficulty with work/life balance, & wearing all the hats early on in my small business growth.. but hands down, the most difficult portion of all?

𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬. 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞, 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞, & 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬.. with hopes that things work out.. honestly, that’s the sh**t that makes me lose sleep at night and the portion that I respect the most out of fellow salon owners who provide a training program to new stylists. Those owners that understand that life happens: people change, people move, interests shift. Yet somehow they can continue to optimistically move forward while investing their resources into others with a smile on their face.

Many ladies may have seen, but our oh so loved is moving to North Carolina this September. Fun fact… Jenny is someone that I hired before she even began cosmetology school. I was there to convince her to take the leap and get her license, I was there for her first ever balayage, I was there to reassure her nervous energy for her first ever solo wedding, and I was there to help her maneuver those difficult consultations with a client.

Seeing Jenny’s technical & professional abilities evolve into the talented stylist that she is today has been so rewarding for me..and exactly why it is so hard to see her go. She has been such a pivotal part of our team, and she will be dearly missed. But it’s time for her to go be with her significant other, and we are so happy for her 💕
