What a blessing in the Graced & Sage Wellness Garden!
After a tough summer, our garden is still growing and producing a beautiful harvestāfrom watermelon and cucumbers to okra, peppers, herbs and more.
Through The Talking Bees Garden and our pollinator project with Healthy Hive Foundationā ļæ¼, weāre growing more than foodāweāre creating opportunities to learn about healthy habits, gardening, and the important role pollinators play in the food we grow.
What would you love to see us harvest next?

My crown changed. My beauty didnāt.
Alopecia has changed the way I see myself, but this season is teaching me something deeper about beauty, identity, and faith.
There was a time when so much of how I saw my beauty was connected to my hair. Losing it required me to meet a version of myself I never expected.
And Iāve learned to embrace her.
Accepting my beauty in this season has helped me recognize Godās design and trust His perfect plan for my life.
My hair may look different.
My crown may look different.
But I am still beautiful. Still worthy. Still me.
Alopecia canāt steal my beauty.
And if your crown is changing too, I hope my journey reminds you that your beauty was never held in your hair alone.
This is what it means for me to be
BOLDLY CROWNED.
Know Your Scalp. Care for Your Crown. Own Your Story.
What are you learning to embrace about yourself in this season?
I never thought Iād be on this side of hair loss.
For years, Iāve helped women navigate changes in their hair and scalp. Then I found myself shampooing my own hair, watching it come out in a way I had never experienced before.
I was 51, had just opened my dream salon and Head Spa, and I remember thinking:
āI cannot believe this is happening to me.ā
This part of my journey was private. Sharing it now is hard.
I didnāt have all the answers then and as my journey continued, I learned that what I could see on the outside was only part of my story.
For me, understanding the bigger picture meant looking inside out, asking questions, and eventually building a team of healthcare professionals who could bring different perspectives to my individual journey.
But in this moment, before I knew where any of it would lead, I had something else:
āØPeace. Faith. And the belief that God was still with me. āØ
My hair may be part of my glory, but it is not the source of my glory.
My crown was changing.
My identity wasnāt.
And when I heard myself saying, āHe chose me to be bold,ā I didnāt fully understand what those words would eventually mean.
Iām beginning to understand now.
Thatās why BOLDLY CROWNED is becoming more than my story. I want it to be a community where we learn together, become more aware of our hair and scalp, ask better questions, share our experiences, and remind one another that we donāt have to walk through change silently.
Know Your Scalp. Care for Your Crown. Own Your Story.
What has your own hair or scalp journey taught you about yourself?

This client came to April with CCCA and is now midway through a customized 12-week hair and scalp care journey.
What matters about these photos isnāt just what you can see; itās the consistency behind them.
Trichology isnāt about giving every person the same product or protocol. Itās about paying attention to the individual, supporting appropriate hair and scalp care, tracking changes, educating the client, and knowing when medical collaboration is needed.
This is progress, not the finish line, and individual results will vary.
During Alopecia Awareness Month, let this be your reminder: if your hair or scalp is changing, donāt just cover it up or guess whatās happening. Pay attention and seek appropriate professional support.

As a Trichologist, Iāve spent years helping women navigate changes in their hair and scalp. But this time, I was the one looking for answers.
Going to the dermatologist gave me another perspective on what I was experiencing and left me with some important decisions to make about my own journey.
I was at a crossroads.
And looking back now, I know those decisions would eventually change the way I saw and cared for my crown.
This is Part 2 of my Alopecia Journey. And thereās more to this story.
Have you ever had to seek another perspective when something just didnāt feel right?

Your hair care routine doesnāt end when you leave the salon.
The right home care routine can help you stay consistent with caring for your hair and scalp between visits. The Revival Hair Boost System⢠brings together targeted products for cleansing, scalp care, and thinning-hair support, including a 5% minoxidil topical solution.
For April, this work has become even more personal as she continues sharing her own hair-loss journey throughout Alopecia Awareness Month.
Be intentional about your crown at the salon and at home.

Before you see where I am today, I want to show you where this journey began.
This video was recorded in April 2025, when I decided it was time to seek professional support for the changes I was experiencing with my hair.
At the time, I didnāt know exactly where this journey would take me.
I was a Trichologist accustomed to helping other people navigate their hair and scalp concerns. This time, I was the one sitting on the other side of the experience.
Looking back at this footage now means something completely different.
Because approximately one year later, my journey reached a point where I made the decision to shave my head.
And even that isnāt the end of this story.
Throughout Alopecia Awareness Month, Iām going to share pieces of a journey that, until now, Iāve kept very private the changes, what Iāve learned, caring for my crown, my decision to shave, my faith, and eventually, the story behind my tattoo.
Iām sharing because hair loss can be deeply personal, but no woman should feel that she has to navigate her questions alone.
This is where my journey began.
And when Iām ready, Iāll show you where it led me.
Stay with me. Part 2 is coming.
When we recognize a need, the next step is deciding what weāre going to do about it.
Through Graced & Sage Wellness, our intention is to turn wellness education into something practical something women and families can understand, experience, and use in their everyday lives.
Weāve been able to continue building spaces and opportunities where our community can learn, connect, and develop healthier habits.
From wellness education and collaboration with wellness professionals to our kitchen and garden, each piece has a purpose:
Educate. Empower. Encourage healthier choices.
Weāre grateful for the investment that helps us move this work forward and weāre committed to turning that investment into meaningful community impact.
Because lasting change isnāt only about giving people information. Itās helping them understand how to put that information into action.
What is one healthy habit youāre working on right now?
When purpose, opportunity, and community investment come together, vision can become action.
Weāre grateful for the opportunity to share the story behind Graced & Sage Wellness and the intention guiding this work.
Support through The Black Fund of Central Texas is allowing us to move beyond ideas and continue developing meaningful wellness experiences that educate, connect, and equip women with practical tools they can carry into everyday life.
For us, this work is also about responsibility being intentional with the resources entrusted to us and creating opportunities for those resources to have a lasting impact in the community.
But recognizing the need was only the beginning.
In Part 2, see how that need began turning into action through education, collaboration, and community investment.
