Hey yall, it was a hard decision but like many small businesses we have to increase our base price for haircuts, as well as our price for all hot towel services. Rest assured our sliding scale remains intact at $30-$50 with a new and improved way of booking those slots. Don’t forget to log in to book your appointments, get that confirmation email, and as always Be Kind, Rewind (your hair)!

Hey yall. Vinnie here, lots of these pictures have been posted plenty of times before but whatever.
So today is Vinnie’s Barbershop’s 4th anniversary. The number four is, as an angel number, about balance, stability, and support. I can’t quite say that I believe in it, as a major skeptic but I cannot deny that my career simply moves in four year increments.
I started my barber career at Groom in 2013 and stayed til 2017, where I went to Franklins and left in 2021. After a nine month stint of cutting hair at my house (no, not during the pandemmy much to a lot of people’s belief), I’ve now been here in this house I built for four years.
That’s not been without a lot of hardship and confusion. I left Groom after 4 years because I wasn’t growing anymore in my career, but I left Franklins after 4 years because it was obvious I wasn’t growing anymore as a PERSON. And rather than try to hold someone else’s hand again to guide me (I’ll never forget Andy at Born Free offering), I knew I needed something that was going to make me put in more work on myself and my craft.
I found the shop while walking around the cemetery with a friend having coffee, and fell in love. It just so happened my landlords were walking by as I was scoping it out - I requested they consider a tenant, but they utilized the space personally for their art and had no intention of needing a tenant. Until just a few weeks later I received a call from them saying an opportunity came up and they would need someone to fill the space at the end of summer. I hemmed and hawed the whole summer despite my love of it and when the listing was officially up I knew I couldn’t not take it.
That was four years and five months ago. After a false start in December, a few more months of home haircuts, a lot of gray hairs, and some lonely days I finally opened. And it’s been five days a week, 9 hours a day ever since.
And it’s not without so much support: The clients who came to my home, and those who have found me since. My partner Kat. My friends who helped build the space, particularly Lesha. Oddly enough some pro wrestlers. And those who joined me along the way.

We already have bookings and rather than upend their lives (even though we are all snowed in anyway and we are doing this because of people whose lives have been upended) we will be accepting CASH ONLY payment on Friday Jan 30 and as long as the general strike continues. F u c k I C E
