Market prep is officially underway! 🌿🫐

The bags are packed (well… almost šŸ˜‚), the soaps are labeled (again...almost), and Blueberry Fields is getting ready for a three-market weekend!
You can find me:

🌿 Thursday —Gloucester Township Farmers Market
šŸ›ļø Saturday — Yard Market
āš“ Sunday — Viking Village

I’ll be bringing handcrafted soaps, bath & body favorites, seasonal scents, and plenty of Blueberry Fields goodness with me. Our new paint your own bath bomb station will be set up on Saturday and Sunday too!

This is what the behind-the-scenes of a handmade business really looks like, bags of freshly wrapped and labeled products everywhere, products everywhere, lists being checked…and probably something I’ll remember at the last minute. šŸ˜‚

If you're coming out this weekend, stop by, smell some soap, say hello, and see what’s new!

Three markets. Three days. One very full soapmobile. šŸ’™

TEACH ME TUESDAY: COLLOIDAL OATMEAL

You’ve probably seen colloidal oatmeal listed on skincare labels, but what exactly is it?

Colloidal oatmeal is made by finely grinding oat kernels into a very fine powder. Unlike the oatmeal in your pantry, it is processed so the tiny particles can disperse in water and interact more evenly with the skin.

Why is it used in skincare?

Oats naturally contain compounds including beta-glucans, lipids, proteins and antioxidant compounds called avenanthramides. Together, these help make colloidal oatmeal a useful ingredient for soothing, conditioning and supporting the skin’s moisture barrier.

That’s one reason I reach for colloidal oatmeal when formulating products designed to feel gentle and comforting on the skin.

At Blueberry Fields Artisan Soap, you’ll find colloidal oatmeal in several of our handcrafted formulations, including soaps, botanical mineral bath soaks and dry facial masks.

Sometimes an ingredient doesn’t need to be trendy to earn a place in a formulation. It just needs to have a purpose. 🌾

Have you ever used a skincare product made with colloidal oatmeal?

Meet the Maker Monday

Most soap labels tell you what's in the bar. I want you to know why it's in there.

Saponified oils aren't just "natural ingredients" , they're a chemical reaction I can explain to you, ingredient by ingredient, if you ask me at my booth this weekend. (And I love when you ask.)

That's the difference between natural and natural-on-purpose.
