So this time, we turned up the depth just a tad, and did a custom blend so that the result was richer, deeper, but still natural and flattering to her skin tone.

This is EXACTLY why I will ALWAYS recommend doing a trial spray tan before your wedding spray tan 👏

Back in February, for Brenna’s hair and makeup trial, we did a trial spray tan to see how everything looked together. At her trial tan, we kept things pretty natural. I’d call her trial tan a light medium.

When her wedding came around, she knew:
1️⃣ she didn’t want to sit in her tan for 8 hours again
2️⃣ she wanted to go a little darker without being unnatural

That’s the value of doing a trial for your spray tan ☀️

Not because something could go horribly wrong - but it gives you time and space to experience the color, how it feels to develop in it, see it in different lighting, and make small adjustments for the wedding day.

When we do a trial tan, on wedding week, we aren’t in a position to take our best guess and hope for the best outcome.

Don’t rule out the low updo just yet my thick haired queen 👑

So many girlies with thick hair rule out a clean low updo because they’ve either had:

✅ Had an updo that felt like it weighed 1000lbs
✅ Had pins spitting out of the style all night in the past
✅ Or they’ve been told that an updo could never work on their hair

Ok so maybe one of these were true, but what if they weren’t?

For Brenna, the goal was to build her low bun in a way that supported her natural hair density. We refined the texture, controlled the bulk where we needed, and styled it intentionally.

The final result still felt soft, clean, and effortless - but behind the scenes everything was tailored to her so that her updo could last throughout the night.

So if you’re a thick haired bride that has secretly been loving a clean low updo, but not so secretly nervous about the idea of the style, don’t count it out just yet!

3️⃣ Before a brush is picked up, we are unpacking your CCQ to be sure we are on the same page.

So if you feel great about our signature styles (check out the top of our IG profile) and can see yourself in them and truly feel aligned with our experience, if you leave your hair and makeup trial with more than a few tweaks, we missed the mark wayyyyy before we got to the trial!
