Good News Sunday ✝️ | Happy Mother’s Day
🌹 Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there! Today we celebrate the women who hold our families and communities together. Mothers are the backbone of everything we have - they’re the first teachers, the prayer warriors, the encouragers, the disciplinarians, and the ones who believe in us even when we don’t believe in ourselves. You’ve sacrificed more than we’ll ever know, worked harder than we’ll ever see, and loved us deeper than we can measure. Thank you for raising us, for never giving up on us, and for showing us what strength really looks like.
💪🏾 To the single mothers doing the work of two parents - we see you. To the grandmothers raising grandchildren - we honor you. To the mothers working multiple jobs to keep the lights on - we appreciate you. To the mothers who’ve lost children but still find the strength to keep going - we lift you up. To the stepmothers, godmothers, and mother figures who stepped in when they didn’t have to - we thank you. You’ve all poured into us, believed in us, and held us accountable. You’ve kept this community standing through every storm.
🙏🏾 Mothers, you are treasures. You deserve more than one day of celebration, but today we want to make sure you know how much you mean to us. Rest today. Let somebody else cook. Let somebody else clean. You’ve earned it. We love you, we appreciate you, and we thank God for you. Happy Mother’s Day! 🌟

Good News Sunday ✝️ | Frank Farrow - Lifting Up Black Men and Boys in Boston
🚀 Celebrating Frank Farrow, Executive Director of Boston’s Office of Black Male Advancement! This Roxbury native is doing groundbreaking work to ensure Black men and boys have the support they need to thrive. In February 2026, Frank’s office awarded $500,000 in grants to 39 community organizations across Boston - investing in programs that focus on education, economic opportunity, health, workforce training, fatherhood engagement, and mental wellness. This isn’t just throwing money at problems - it’s strategic investment in organizations that are already doing the hard work in the community!
💪🏾 Frank brings this work home in a personal way. As a Black man raising two sons - Christian and Kingston - in Boston, he understands firsthand the challenges his community faces. In 2012, he founded Elevate Boston Foundation to improve outcomes for youth and families of color. During COVID-19, he launched Foodcare Boston, distributing food, toiletries, and PPE to 1,000 predominantly Black families every week throughout the pandemic. He’s also a Tufts graduate with a master’s degree in Urban & Environmental Policy & Planning, combining academic excellence with grassroots community organizing. Frank’s not just advocating from the outside - he’s living it!
🙏🏾 What makes Frank’s work so important is that he’s changing the narrative. “I want the story to no longer be about Black men and boys needing to be resilient or striving to be better, but about them thriving and realizing their full potential,” he says. Through programs like My Brother’s Keeper, Black Men Lead Boston, and Young Black Leaders Boston, Frank is giving Black men and boys the tools to make real change in their communities. He’s building a foundation for the next generation. That’s legacy work right there! 🌟

Good News Sunday ✝️ | Junior Barber Academy - FREE Class May 31st
🚀 Calling all parents and young people! The Junior Barber Academy, run by the P. Michael Boone Foundation, is hosting a FREE barber class on May 31st! This is an incredible opportunity for youth to learn a valuable life skill that can change their future. Founded by P. Michael Boone, a North Philadelphia barber with over 30 years of experience, this program is transforming lives one haircut at a time. The Junior Barber Academy operates in Philadelphia, Atlanta, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, and even Johannesburg, South Africa!
💪🏾 This isn’t just about cutting hair - it’s about building confidence, teaching entrepreneurship, and keeping young people on the right path. The program works with youth ages 7-21, meeting once a week for 8-week sessions. Students learn barbering fundamentals, business skills, financial literacy, and life lessons from mentors who truly care. The academy received a $25,000 grant from the Philadelphia DA’s Office for their work in violence prevention, and they partner with Mastery Charter Schools and even the Philadelphia Juvenile Justice facility. Students get to keep their clippers and tools after completing the program!
🙏🏾 P. Michael knows firsthand how barbering can change a life - he taught himself to cut hair at age 12 because his family couldn’t always afford haircuts. Now he’s passing that gift forward. “Barbering is not just about haircuts, it’s about shaping lives,” he says. This is a FREE program that gives young people a skill they can use to earn income, help their community, or even build a business. Don’t miss this opportunity! Good News Sunday ✝️ | The Powerhouse Women Behind Jalen Hurts
🏈 As we end Women’s History Month, we’re celebrating the all-women management team behind Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts! When Jalen was looking for representation, he wasn’t trying to make a statement - he was simply seeking out the best. And what happened? He ended up with five incredible women who have rewritten NFL history and negotiated a record-breaking $255 million contract. “I have a team of straight hustlers… They get things done,” Jalen said. Let’s meet these trailblazers:
💪🏾 NICOLE LYNN - Agent & President of Klutch Sports Football Division
The first Black woman to represent an NFL draft pick and the first Black woman to represent a quarterback in the Super Bowl! She slid into Jalen’s DMs in 2020 with a simple message: “Have you picked an agent? If not, I’d love to link.” That bold move changed everything. Nicole negotiated Jalen’s historic $255 million deal - the largest contract in NFL history at the time.
✨ CHANTAL ROMAIN - Media Relations & Client Services
Expert in communications strategies for the NBA, WNBA, NBA G League, and NFL. She’s the communications powerhouse keeping Jalen’s brand strong.
🙏🏾 SHAKEEMAH SIMMONS-WINTER - Media Relations & Client Services
Senior publicist specializing in FIBA and the NFL. Former PR coordinator for the New York Knicks, she brings elite expertise to the team.
💼 RACHEL EVERETT - Marketing
Owner of Everett Sports Marketing, Rachel manages all marketing components of Jalen’s career and brand partnerships.
📋 JENNA MALPHRUS - Endorsement Management
Handles the wide array of Jalen’s management tasks and works alongside the team on marketing projects.
These women aren’t just good - they’re the BEST. Three of them are Black women breaking barriers in a male-dominated industry. Jalen chose excellence, and excellence chose him right back. They prove that when women get the opportunity, they don’t just belong - they dominate! 🌟
