There was a time in my life when I was deeply hurt. I remember crying to my mother and asking why I experienced alot of betrayal, especially from people I had shown pure genuine love to without motive.

"Sherrie, You inherited your heart from your grandmothers."

She began telling me stories about their love, loyalty, generosity, and the way they cared for others in very similar matters as I did. Then she explained that not everyone comes from that kind of foundation—but I did. She said many people don't appreciate genuine love because they didn't come from it like me nor have they ever witnessed it.

In that moment, I chose not to become bitter. I chose to honor what had been passed down to me.

I don't pray to our ancestors, but we can honor them through the way we live, the way we love, and what we leave behind for future generations in the same matter that we still honor father Abraham or call king David the son of Jesse or Jesus the son of David. We continue the specific assignment of our blood line.
