This morning was exactly what I needed. The beautiful sunrise was just icing on the cake!!

I’ve been seriously wondering if I’ll be able to run the Berlin Marathon, and after today’s run, I finally feel like it might actually be possible.

Thank you, Paige Nelson, for reminding me that I can still run fast. ❤️

In full disclosure, my tendon definitely didn’t love the faster miles, but it handled them better than I expected, so I’ll absolutely take that as a win.

Workout:
9 mile warm up
5 miles at marathon effort: 6:30, 6:34, 6:29, 6:19, 6:09 (6:24 average)
½ mile easy
8 × 30 second pickups with 1 minute recovery
Cool down to finish with 16 miles.

It was definitely a warmer morning, but after running in Florida last week, it felt totally doable.

I’m so grateful to have made it through 16 miles today. I’m not taking a single mile for granted. Every run feels like a gift, and today gave me a little more hope that Berlin is still within reach.

One of the hardest parts of being injured isn’t just missing the miles. It’s missing the people.

In the middle of busy lives, running is where so many of us find time to connect, encourage each other, and simply show up. Some of my closest friendships have been built one run at a time. We’ve celebrated victories, carried each other through hard seasons, and shared countless conversations that have meant more than we’ll ever know.

This morning was so good for my soul. Spending time with these incredible women filled my cup in the best way. I had really wanted to do this flag run, and I’m so grateful we made it happen. We reached the flag just as they were getting ready to take it down with a photographer there just waiting to take our picture 😝. Talk about perfect timing!

The flag was absolutely magnificent, the scenery was breathtaking, and the whole morning felt a little magical. Runs like this remind me how grateful I am to be running again, to be surrounded by such amazing people, and to call such a beautiful place home.

Sometimes the miles matter. But the friendships matter even more. ❤️🏃‍♀️🇺🇸

Longest run of the year! 🎉

Definitely not the conditions I would have chosen. The heat and humidity were relentless, and they made every mile feel harder than the pace suggested. I’m used to running in dry heat, but humidity is a completely different challenge.

I’m still walking a fine line with this tendon. If Berlin is the goal, these long runs have to happen, but I’m trying to be smart and listen to my body every step of the way.

Today’s run broke down into 6 miles solo, 6 miles with my hubby, and then 3 more solo to finish it off. I ran miles 5 to 6 and 12 to 15 at marathon effort, and those were a grind. 🥵 Splits: 6:49, 6:49, 7:01, 6:37, 6:40. Slower than I was hoping for, but the effort was absolutely there, and sometimes that’s what matters most.

I’m proud to have gotten this one done. My tendon isn’t exactly celebrating with me, so now it’s time to recover, recover, recover.

We’re wrapping up an amazing vacation today and heading home tomorrow. I’m grateful for the memories, the miles, and another reminder that not every victory comes with perfect conditions. ❤️

Don’t let the beautiful scenery fool you. Running in the heat and humidity is no joke! I’ve logged plenty of miles in dry heat, but the humidity takes it to a whole different level. Every step feels harder, every breath feels heavier, and by the end I looked like I had jumped in the ocean.

Even so, mornings like this are worth it. The views were incredible, the miles got done, and I’m grateful my legs carried me through another beautiful place. Sometimes the toughest runs end up being the most memorable. ☀️🌴🏃‍♀️💦

Wow… that was hard. 😅

10 miles in the heat and humidity, and I have a whole new level of respect for those of you who train like this all summer long. You are absolute warriors.

By the time I got home, I was completely drenched. It honestly looked like I’d jumped in the shower with my running clothes on.

Hot and humid running will never be my favorite, but there was still something beautiful about being out there. The sunrise, the miles, and the reminder that sometimes the toughest runs are the ones that make you feel the strongest.

The heat and humidity are no joke… but the run still got done. 💪☀️🏃‍♀️

Anyone else feel this way? Good workout=good mood, bad workout=bad mood 🙈

Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

This is hands down one of my favorite holidays. There’s just something special about spending the day with the people I love while celebrating the freedom and opportunities we’re so blessed to have.

This morning I laced up for a few fast miles, and let’s just say they went about as well as you’d expect after 4 hours of sleep, three straight days of hiking, and running at 7,000 feet. 😅 But honestly, I wouldn’t have traded it for anything.

Running these quiet country roads outside of Loa, Utah felt pretty magical. There’s something about small towns that just feels like America to me. 🇺🇸

I’m especially grateful that, even with a stubborn tendon that’s still giving me trouble, I was able to get out and run today. Every mile is a gift.

Hope you all have a safe, happy, and memorable Fourth of July! 🎆

This week felt like a pretty big setback. My tendon has been bugging me all week, and I’ll admit I’ve been pretty discouraged. But as I looked back over my training, it makes sense. I’ve been running too many “fast” miles for where my tendon is right now.

That’s the hard part. I feel good aerobically and I want to push, but my tendon just isn’t ready for that kind of load yet.

So today I backed the pace off. The tendon is still sore, but not nearly as sore as it has been this week, so I’ll take that as a win. I’m hoping I can keep running, keep training, and keep finding that tricky balance between building fitness and giving my tendon what it needs.

Grateful for every mile I was able to get in this week, and even more grateful for a great run with Cher Wallentine . 👊

Joking, not joking…. Can you relate?!

The air was rough out there this morning, but we got the work done anyway. Hot temperatures, smoky skies, and burning throats by the end, but there’s something satisfying about showing up when conditions aren’t perfect.

Workout:
• 3 miles @ 6:32 pace
• 10-minute recovery
• 1 mile @ 7:26
• 8 × 400m around 7:00/mile pace
• Finished the last one in 1:23

The tendon is still talking to me, so I’m trying to find that fine line between pushing fitness forward and respecting the recovery process. Some days that balance feels harder than the workout itself.

Praying these fires can be contained soon and that we get our clear mountain skies back. Until then, we’ll keep showing up and doing the work with whatever conditions we’re given. Thanks Cher Wallentine for running with me this morning!
