It’s okay, so am I! 🙈 And I’m never here to judge or lecture, only to help inform and guide with useful tips.

If you’re investing in all of the right skin care + treatments, but not cleansing your makeup brushes at home frequently enough, it may explain a plateau or flareups in your skin. This is also one of those sneaky, hidden acne triggers that can be forgotten or overlooked, disrupting your skins microbiome.

And if you don’t wear makeup every day? Your brushes are still brewing from last weeks use 💁‍♀️

It may feel like an extra chore on your to do list, but I promise it’s worth it!

✨ Extends the lifespan and quality of your brushes

1. Wash your makeup brushes every 7-10 days if possible.
2. Wash your beauty blender even more frequently, every 2-3 days. They hold onto moisture and can grow MOLD! 😧
3. Spray your brushes with hypochlorous acid after use to slow bacteria growth. It’s gentle and won’t dry your bristles out.
4. Mist your pressed powder, blushes, and palettes with isopropyl alcohol to disinfect.

Clearing the acne is only part of the goal. Understanding why it’s happening in the first place along with individual triggers is where the real transformation begins!

My approach is never to simply to clear what we can see on the surface but to also look at all of the contributing factors so we can create a plan that supports healthier skin function long-term.

Genetics, lifestyle and habits, makeup products, hormones, GUT HEALTH and a variety of other factors can play a contributing role in the acne cycle which is why we call it a “multifactorial” condition. Together, we discuss all of it so that I can help remove some of the overwhelming guess work of how to best manage it and create a more clear and sustainable path moving forward.
