Arizona’s Congressional District 6 has been at the center of major political debates, from data center development to plans for a new ICE detention facility in Marana.
Republican incumbent Juan Ciscomani is facing Democratic challenger and retired U.S. Marine Joanna Mendoza in a district that has been competitive in recent elections. We asked both candidates how they would use their office to address voters’ concerns. Ciscomani declined to participate, while Mendoza shared her perspective on accessibility and listening to constituents.

🎥 After more than four decades at Arizona PBS, senior videographer Scot Olson is retiring! 🧡
Scot first joined the station as an ASU freshman in 1978, beginning a career filled with unforgettable stories, from filming a live open-heart surgery broadcast to traveling to Beijing with ASU scientists. He also helped showcase Arizona’s local food scene, visiting more than 300 restaurants for Check, Please! Arizona, and captured some of the biggest moments in Arizona sports. Beyond the stories he’s told, Scot’s legacy includes mentoring generations of student videographers and storytellers through ASU’s student worker program.

Thank you, Scot, for 48 years of storytelling, mentorship, and dedication to Arizona PBS. We’re grateful to have been part of your journey! 💙

With the election approaching, we wanted to look past the campaign ads and ask: What would be your top priority in the first month in office? Hobbs did not respond to our request for an interview. Biggs shared his priorities, including affordability, accountability, and preparing a legislative agenda.
