Your hair will fade yes. But you should still be seeing pastel shades of your color!
How to achieve longevity:
1. Wait to wash your hair. I recommend at the very least 24 hours. We really want to make sure to give your hair cuticle time to fully calm down and seal around that color.
2. Make sure you are washing in cool/cold water! I know.. cold showers aren’t my thing either. When I have vivids I wash my hair in the sink. I’m a hillbilly at heart so say what you will. But it beats a cold shower!
3. Good shampoo and conditioner! There’s no way your keeping your color by using poor quality products to take care of your hair! You need a quality sulfate free shampoo paired with a conditioner that helps correct any underlying issues you may have from lightening. Heat protectant if your heat styling your hair.
4. Which brings me to my next point. The more heat you use the more that will change the color. So try heat less styles to keep from altering the color.
Which includes being in direct sunlight. We know sun can lighten our natural haircolor and our permanent haircolor so naturally it will do it to your vivid colors.
5. STAY OUT OF CHLORINE! The pool will be your demise. It will literally rinse the color right out of your hair.
