I'm back at the studio, and rescheduling everyone from last week has started.

Because of that, I'm closing availability this week while I get everyone in. I will not be accepting any new appointments until I can fit in folks I missed while I was out sick.

We should have everything back to normal soon.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Being sick is the worst!

So, I DJ'ed a wedding last weekend, and I think the exhaustion plus being around a lot of people ended up giving me the sinus infection that I've been battling for days. ☹️🤧🤒😵‍💫 (All the Emojis)

I've been contacting everybody individually that had appointments that were missed, and I will try to get everybody rescheduled in as soon as I can.

Running a salon by myself is both nice and hard. It's great because I can have control over just about everything in it, but if I'm out sick there's no one to cover for me. Ah, the joys of small business ownership. What can you do? 😏 I'm taking it in stride though, and I usually only get really super sick once a year.

Wait, you didn't know that I'm also a hobbyist DJ? 😲

That's right! If you look on Facebook for Next Level Noise, that's me! I've done two corporate events and two weddings this year, and I've got plans for one of the office spaces at my new location. That is if I don't get sick again! 😆

One Month In Thoughts:

Wow! What a month! New location, new booking system, new everything. I wanted to share with you my thoughts and perspective looking back on the first four weeks:

▫️Visibility: Booksy has made me more visible in the surrounding area in a way Square never could. This has lead - in part - to several new clients finding me. Combine this with the verbal referrals, and it's been a welcome combination for exposure!

▫️Booksy: Deposits & Rescheduling
Rescheduling: While not an option in Booksy, if you need to reschedule, please contact me (Facebook, text, email) to assist you. If you cancel and make a new appointment, you're paying the deposit each time.

Having the deposit ahead of appointments has been helpful in protecting against no-shows, or having insufficient payment methods on file for "bad actors", we'll call them. It's given me peace of mind that people booking with me truly do want to sit in my chair.

▫️Signage: While I'm still trying to find time to reactivate my old graphic design skills, I think I have to throw in the towel, and keep the old logo exactly the way it is, and just get a sign up ASAP. Even with Google Maps and Booksy showing people exactly where I'm at, some folks have been having a hard time. My apologies!

▫️Future Expansion: Right now, I'm still trying to get the side rooms set the way I want. The rentable karaoke in the "off hours" is still on the table, but I have to find a way to place nice with the neighbors, and sound dampen the room adequately. This would look like a schedule that include evening hours (6p-10p) and weekends. BUT, like I said, there's two businesses on either side, and I want to make sure I'm respecting their environments. The proof of concept for this new business still has legs, but I need to get it walking soon.

There's our August Update for you.

ALSO! SALE ONE CUTICLE OILS! The pens are currently 2 for $5 on all remaining stock, and I have "Mystery Boxes" of random oils from Gen 1 for only $2.00. Think gatcha game RNG on pulling something you'll love!
