Haven't seen this one. Check out the photos on Hatfield and McCoy Feud!

Phil Toth, a friend of the Hatfield and McCoy Feud page, submitted this image and also posted, "My grandad, Robert Gibson (1891-1967), shown at the upper right, was visiting the memorial in the late 1920s.

“Grandad was from Virginia and a coal miner. After WWI, the mines shut down where he was. He went to Beckley, WV. He worked wherever there was work, from Raleigh County to Logan County, WV. Eventually, he bought a house outside Chapmanville, in Logan County, where his kids went to high school."

For over ten decades, individuals from around the world have trekked the steep cemetery hill near the small village of Sarah Ann, WV, to spend time near the gravesite and life size marble statue—recognizing and honoring the life and times of Devil Anse Hatfield and his beloved family.
