Let’s talk purging/breakouts -

This is her second facial ever! Her breakouts are a mix of hormonal and some major sensitivity.

What is PURGING?

*Purging is normal! This is caused by using actives (eg. retinoids, vitamin C, AHA/BHA) It should look like small zits. It normally takes 4-6 weeks for complete cell turnover. They should not be itchy, painful, or swollen. The results are worth the wait but always check with your esthi to ensure it is normal!

What is a BREAKOUT?

*Breakouts are primarily caused by creams/oils, diet, stress, etc. They will be inflamed, swollen, and painful. Discontinue use of products that are suspected to be the cause and talk with your esthi to create a plan of action that works for you!
