Tuesday marked a special honor as I participated in my first pop-up event since starting at just three weeks ago. Thank you to , .lopez and last but certainly not least, the students who trusted me to cut their hair.

Redefining Me(n) organizes discussions and events to address one of the most dire topics in our society: deconstructing masculinity to create safe spaces for everyone, facilitate growth of the individual and to help students of all genders navigate in a world deeply engrained with repressive expectations based on gendered norms.

In the span of one shift I had private conversations with students in my chair, and participated in an open group discussion. I am so proud of each individual who took the time to explore these questions with others, and look into themselves to enact positive change as individuals and in their community.
