This pi**es me off soooo much cause we are just a number to jobs 🤬😩 😢
My 💐 condolences

At some point during the early morning hours of May 26, a 19-year-old working the overnight shift at a Birmingham, Alabama hospital told someone she was not feeling well and asked to go home.

Jakoya Renae Morgan had been working at Children's of Alabama, one of the most respected pediatric hospitals in the state. She was there in the middle of the night, caring for sick children, when something told her she needed to leave. According to her family, that request was denied. At 4:12 in the morning, Jakoya collapsed on the job. The hospital's care team responded and began life-saving measures. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office confirmed her death shortly after.

Reports indicate Jakoya had a previously diagnosed medical condition, though her family has not released details. What her family and the public want to know is something far more straightforward. She said she felt unwell. She asked to go home. Why was she told to stay? Children's of Alabama released a brief statement confirming her death and extending condolences to her family and colleagues. For many people following this story, that statement has not come close to answering the question at the center of it.

Jakoya was 19 years old. She was showing up for work in the early hours of the morning to take care of children who needed her. Nobody has yet explained why the same care was not extended to her when she asked for it.

Her family is without her. The questions remain unanswered.

What do you think should happen next, and what does Jakoya's family deserve to hear from the hospital before this is over?

🩵✨ Shouting out my beautiful brand ambassador — my spoiled brat 😂✨🩵

From day one, she has shown nothing but love and support for my business. Not only has she represented Blue Beauty Bar with beauty and confidence, but she has also brought so many amazing clients my way and constantly pours into my brand. Support like hers never goes unnoticed.

I’m not even going to lie — I’m still sad I didn’t make it to her prom and had to watch my her shine through social media 😭💔 But even from a distance, seeing her looking this beautiful made me so proud. Watching the young lady she’s becoming truly warms my heart.

Thank you for believing in me, supporting my dream, and always showing up for Blue Beauty Bar. You are appreciated more than you know. Keep shining, keep growing, and keep being the amazing young queen you are. Blue Beauty Bar loves you BIG! 💙🦋

Why Your Wax Might Hurt More Than Usual 👀

1️⃣Menstrual cycle timing
Clients often feel more sensitive right before or during their period because hormonal changes can lower pain tolerance.
2️⃣Caffeine or stimulants before the appointment
Coffee, energy drinks, and pre-workout supplements can make the nervous system more reactive and increase discomfort.
3️⃣First-time wax clients or long gaps between appointments
Hair roots tend to be stronger and more established when someone is new to waxing or hasn’t maintained a regular schedule.
4️⃣Stress, anxiety, or lack of sleep
Physical and mental stress can lower pain tolerance and make clients feel more sensitive overall.
5️⃣Not exfoliating regularly
Dead skin buildup can trap hairs and contribute to ingrowns, making hair harder to remove cleanly and potentially more uncomfortable.
6️⃣Longer hair growth or hair that’s too long
Excessively long hair can create more pulling and tugging rather than a cleaner removal.
7️⃣Dry or dehydrated skin
Dry skin can hold onto hairs more tightly and often lacks flexibility. Well-hydrated, moisturized skin tends to allow for smoother hair removal and a more comfortable wax.
8️⃣Recent friction or irritation to the area (including rough s*x the day before)
Friction can create subtle inflammation and increase sensitivity. For bikini or Brazilian clients especially, rough s*x, biking, intense workouts, or repeated rubbing may leave the area more tender even when the skin appears normal.
