On this day 23 years ago...246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for their morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. Not a single one of them saw past 10:00am on September 11, 2001.

One of our Streams’ Dads, Sam Kane, has been organizing a fundraising event that benefits pediatric cancer research for 16 years. This year’s event hits closer to home and is dedicated to the Brooks Murphy Family. It is a unique fundraiser where participants have their heads shaved, in solidarity and support of kids who may lose their hair during cancer treatment.

The St. Baldrick's Foundation is the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, granting over $340 million USD in childhood cancer research since 2005.

Since its start, locally more than $1 million USD has been granted to UPMC Children’s Hospital and the University of Pittsburgh for life-saving research.
