National Women's Small Business Month Spotlight: Ashley Erin owner of 90 North Studio and Skin + Tonix

Ashley is a trained Herbalist, Licensed Esthetician, and lifelong movement practitioner with over 20 years of experience in holistic wellness. Her work bridges the worlds of skincare, body awareness, and whole-body healing — honoring the belief that true beauty and vitality begin within.

With a background in yoga, dance, Pilates, barre, and somatic movement, Ashley has been immersed in movement her entire life and is deeply passionate about the mind–body connection. Her teaching style is rooted in somatics, neurology, core strength, and pelvic floor health, helping others reconnect with their bodies and access their innate intelligence and power.

In her skincare practice, Ashley blends advanced clinical knowledge with a holistic, integrative approach. Drawing from her deep understanding of the connection between nature and the human body, she creates highly personalized and results driven treatments that go beyond the surface—restoring balance, vitality, and each client’s most radiant glow.

Through both movement and skincare, Ashley shares a unified philosophy: when we nurture ourselves from the inside out, we unlock our most authentic, luminous expression — body, mind, and spirit.

Happy 3rd Birthday to Skin + Tonix! Birthdays have always been pensive and emotional for me. They remind me of how fleeting life is and the ephemeral nature of youth. It’s the paradox of life. It’s so beautiful and it’s so sad. With each passing year I reflect on where I’ve come from, where I would like to be and where I feel like I’ve grown and need to grow. Today I have a lot of feelings. Skin + Tonix has grown solely on your word of mouth, which says A LOT. And I feel so humbled by the support from each one of you. The lessons I’ve learned and the amount of business savvy I’ve accrued is absolutely priceless. But don’t get it fu**ed up; entrepreneurship is a lonely road. I am alone most of the time, I’m often totally exhausted and feel like I’m flying blind. All I know is that I have a deep pull in my bones to serve something greater than myself. To help make people feel beautiful and offer them space to take a pause from this crazy world.
So on days like today, I “should” all over myself. I should have had a party for the business, I should have had a sale, I should have made an Instagram reel, a call to action, a facial special, a giveaway. I should be further than I am. Then I remind myself that I there are many ways to be a business owner. I can be as loud or as quiet as I want. I can push hard, simply keep aligning or I can do nothing at all. I am not doing it wrong and I am not doing it right. I am just doing what I can as one person who wears all the hats and who just had the flu. And most importantly, I’m tired. Life has lifed all over me and I’m feeling it. But I remain tired and proud and utterly grateful.
These photos were my present to myself for my 40th birthday. I did this shoot to remind myself that although I am 40 and single, I’m thriving. I’ve been through hell and came back smarter, stronger and better than ever. And I won’t stop. Thank you all for your continued trust in me. It means more than you know.
