Before and after 😍
For the millionth time, ladies...
You can't heal damage to your hair. Hair is not a living protein. It's completely hardened by the time it grows out of the follicle. Once the structure is gone, it's gone. The only real way to keep your hair healthy is getting it trimmed regularly. If you hit a rabbit on the highway and pour conditioner on it will it come back to life? No. That hare is dead. So is yours. Trim it 👍
Every once in a while I get a "YES!' to doing a mohawk! ☺️👍 The smile says it all!
Beautiful results 💗💗 because we're all worth it!

Thank you, Massachusetts!
The House passes the CROWN Act, a bill banning discrimination on race-based hairdos The U.S. Senate still must pass the CROWN Act before it can be approved by President Biden.
I would like to sincerely apologize to all of my clients for the inconvenience. I am currently out of work until at least my evaluation on Friday. I had an unfortunate hand injury that required 20 stitches on my left hand. I'm confident that any of the fine stylists at Hair Express & Day Spa will be able to assist you if you're unable to wait for me to return. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Take care. (AND WEAR THICK GLOVES TO TRIM YOUR HEDGES!!!)

One of the most frequent questions I get asked is how often you should wash your hair. The answer is... there is no right answer! Some people need to wash it daily, while others may only need to shampoo weekly. Why? There are a few different reasons. Let's explore a few.
Your scalp has two types of glands, sweat glands and sebaceous glands. Sweat glands produce just that, sweat. Their main job is helping your body regulate temperature. Luckily, your scalp contains eccrine sweat glands, which don't have the foul odor associated with apocrine sweat glands, such as the ones in your feet, underarms, etc. Sweat contains water, salt, urea, and lactic acid, which can all build up on your scalp.
Sebaceous glands produce sebum. This is a mix of oil and lipids that are meant to protect and moisturize your skin. These glands really ramp up as you hit puberty. That's why kids stink! OK, not all kids stink, but you get it.
So why is it different for everyone? For starters, the older we get the less our glands produce. There are other factors, too. Curly hair or chemically processed hair tends to absorb more of the secretions because it is more porous. Environmental factors can also play a key role. Smells can stick to your hair. A couple of examples are ci******es or working in a kitchen.
If you don't wash your hair often enough, these oils combine with the dead skin cells that your scalp is shedding daily and build up. Flakes don't always mean you have dandruff, it could just be dead skin cells.
I guess the definitive answer would be my original answer; we're all different. Personally, I shampoo every 2 to 3 days. If your scalp itches or is flaky, shampoo more often. If this still isn't enough, you may want to try a shampoo geared toward removing buildup. My personal choice is Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree Special Shampoo. A few uses over a few days and my scalp is healthy and clean again. I was diagnosed years ago with psoriasis on my scalp. This shampoo is even enough to keep that under control!
Feel free to keep this conversation going while you breeze through your Monday!
Have a great hair day!
