Planning a surgery? Luminosity Bodywork looks forward to facilitating your fast recovery with minimal discomfort and optimal results.

It is highly recommended to set a few appointments on the books as soon as you have a surgery date. We are currently booking 2+ months out!

As a general guideline, 2 weeks post op is often an ideal timeframe to begin lymphatic drainage sessions, but always follow your surgeon's advice. The most popular session lengths are 45 and 60 minutes.

Additional August and September dates will be opening up within the next few days! I have quite a few clients waiting for appts and will be responding individually, but I wanted to post here preemptively as it may be faster.

I’ve included a new service on my menu - lymphatic face massage. While every full session includes some work on the face, these sessions are focused, detailed and incorporate tools like Gua Sha, brush, and poultice. Here’s an example of what you may expect. Great for sculpting the face and jawline, improving skin health, as well as helping alleviate sinus and allergy concerns. Not ready to commit to a full face session? Lymphatic brushing is also available as an add on treatment to any regular session.

Expanding My Services: Now a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) I’m excited to share a meaningful milestone in my journey as a bodyworker: I’ve completed advanced training in Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) through Klose Training—one of the most respected lymphatic education programs in the world. With this certification, I’m now equipped to offer sp...

Klose training for CLT certification was by far the most transformative and life changing CE course I've ever taken! I feel so lucky to have been a part of this.

I will of course still be offering Manual Lymphatic Drainage and post operative recovery in my practice. This program will enhance and elevate those treatments.

I am now additionally trained in complete decongestive therapy and will begin offering maintenance treatments for patients suffering from lymphedema, lipedema and oncology. A special focus will be facilitating recovery from lymph node removal and/or radiation. I am also qualified to work with bandages and compressions as you can see from the post below!

It was a joy to learn amongst this wonderful group of PTs, OTs, and even Guenter Klose himself!

I feel more confident in my skills and knowledge than ever. In the end it isn't about the amount of letters behind your name, but the quality of the education you've received and the kind of therapist you are empowered to be. This is where Klose training excels.

I’m feeling so grateful to Klose Training for putting together a top tier CDT course, and educational program in general. I feel confident in my new skills to deliver gold standard care to patients. I’m now certified to treat more complex medical cases that may involve lymph node removal, lymphedema, lipedema and more. There are 4 major components of treating these types of cases: MLD, compression bandanging, exercise and self care/skin care. We learned about each in detail, as well as contraindications, comorbidites and other treatments the patient may be going through. We were tested with a written exam, case studies and practical hands on work. Guenter Klose, the creator and director of the entire program took the time to come out, meet us, and help with instruction! He has been a major catalyst in bringing lymphatic drainage to the United States in the past few decades and developed a decongestive therapy program that yields dramatic results. It was really an honor to learn from him. We also had reps from the various compression companies come in and introduce their products. We had one of our instructor’s patients join us to share her personal journey with all of this. Joy, the instructor, was a wealth of knowledge and has experience not just with CDT but also wound care and oncology. She’s even simultaneously receiving her PhD in education. I set a high bar for myself and my practice, and this program definitely matched that dedication. I could not have asked for anything more. Even the hotel had quiet, comfortable rooms with a kitchen suite and amazing complimentary breakfast. I was the only LMT in a group of physical and occupational therapists. It was a great experience to learn amongst them. I felt totally welcomed and supported. Being in private practice, it was a treat to connect with other healthcare professionals. Minneapolis is a foodie city, so I’ve taken time to experience some of that, received my own massage, went swimming and taking an extra day here to hike and see some nature. And of course the Mall of America is here. What I’ve loved most about Minneapolis though, is the people who are kind and welcoming with open arms.

Cosmetic surgery season is about to be in full swing! Lymphatic drainage can make all the difference when it comes to faster healing, less discomfort, and reduced risk of scar tissue formation.

General guideline: the earlier you begin post surgery, the fewer treatments you will ultimately need. It's also beneficial to set up some pre-op sessions prior to your procedure to get your lymphatic system primed for optimal function.
