Kayla Shuker at Ginger Roots Salon & Spa I've been doing hair for about 12 years now and I love it just as much as I did when I first started.

I like to keep up with the latest hair trends as they are always changing. I really enjoy doing vivid colors, corrective colors, and edgy cuts. I also enjoy working on all hair types. I'm not afraid of a challenge and stepping out of the box to achieve a look. It's about working together and being on the same page with what's going to work best for you. My goal is for everyone to leave my chair happy and confident!

I’m not going to lie, going back to the salon made me a little nervous. After being out of work for 3 months I was actually getting using to slowing down. If you watch my stories you know, like a lot of other people during this time I took up gardening. I am absolutely loving eating fresh veggies that I’ve grownI also took this time to work on my business and learn so many new and exciting things. ⁣
⁣
Once I started back at the salon it took a minute to get back into the swing of things. By the end of the first day my arms were tired and my feet were killing me. My body was so used to relaxing that working again was so foreign. By the second day it felt like I had never left. I love being back at the salon. I feel so at home behind the chair creating beautiful hair! ⁣
⁣
The last time this gorgeous lady was in the salon was December. She had an appointment scheduled right at the beginning of the shut down. We took about 3 inches off her length and freshened up her sun kissed balayage. ⁣

I need to get back into the salon soon. My plant obsession is getting out of hand. Pretty soon I’m going to become a full time gardener!

⭐️Quick update and new protocols!⭐️⁣
⁣
We are still looking at a June 1st reopening date at a Ginger Roots. I am hoping by that time we will be able to preform more services. As of right now we are only allowed to do root touchups and haircuts. No lightening, balayage, color pull through, toners, highlights, lowlights, blow drys, etc. ⁣
I will start to contact everyone on my list that needs to be rescheduled on Monday. I will be working my usual 3 days a week, but my hours will be a little shorter due to the new rule of only 10 people being allowed in the salon at a time. We want to keep the amount of people at a time as small as possible.⁣
My new hours for now will be:⁣
Sunday 9am-3pm⁣
Monday 10am-8pm⁣
Friday 9am-3pm⁣
⁣
Here are the new protocols:⁣
1. We will not have a waiting area so when you arrive please wait in your car until I call you in.⁣
2. You must wear a cloth mask at all times during your appointment. If you do not have one I do have one I can supply for you.⁣
3. I will also be wearing a mask my entire scheduled day.⁣
4. Once you come in to the salon we will use a thermometer to check your temperature, and have you use hand sanitizer before you sit down.⁣
5. We will still need to practice social distancing when not working on your hair.⁣
6. Since I use my phone for credit card transactions I want to try to limit the use as much as possible. So if you have Venmo, PayPal, or exact change that would be preferred.⁣
7. I will be blocking 15 to 20 minutes between every client to do thorough sanitizing and disinfecting.⁣
8. If you or someone in your house hold has traveled or felt sick within the last few weeks we will have to reschedule your appointment to a different day.⁣
⁣
I know this is a lot to take in, but if we work together and stay safe we will be able to get back on track. I can’t wait to see you all in just a few more week! ⁣
⁣
Like I said above I will be contacting everyone on my rescheduling list starting Monday. If you would like to be added to that list you can DM me on here or text me at 603.560.2293

Here are all the guidelines for salons in New Hampshire.

05/02/2020

As I’m sure most of your have heard by now salons are allowed to open as of May 11th. They are only allowing root touch ups and haircuts. Unfortunately due to delayed shipments we will not have all the proper PPE equipment required to open safely. We are planning a June 1st opening date but will open sooner if our shipments come in early. Our main goal is for everyone to feel safe.

Please keep an eye out for updates as things are always changing. As I said before I will be posting our new guidelines and protocols as our opening date gets closer.

Thank you all again for being so understanding!!

Bringing you a fun little throw back Thursday from 2016 when my hair was the longest it’s been since I was a freshmen in high school back in 2000.⁣

At this point it might be that long again by the time we get out of quarantine.⁣
Am I right??

Sununu extends New Hampshire’s state of emergency by 3 weeks 04/25/2020

Here is the latest for New Hampshire. Quarantine has been extended for another 21 days. Like I said in my previous post I will be contacting everyone I have scheduled for May personally within the next few days, and also just touching base with everyone else.
I have decided for now I won’t be rebooking or scheduling any new appointments until there is an official reopen day and that I feel comfortable enough to be returning back to the salon.

Thank you again to all my clients for how understanding and supportive you have all been during this. I can’t wait to be able to get back into the salon and see everyone, but for now let’s stay home and stay safe!

Sununu extends New Hampshire’s state of emergency by 3 weeks CONCORD, N.H. (WHDH) - Gov. Chris Sununu on Friday issued an executive order, extending New Hampshire’s coronavirus state of emergency by three weeks. RELATED: Mass. ‘still in...
