Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day ✊🏽

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated 57 years ago—a reminder that our march toward freedom and equality was not that long ago. We’ve come a long way, but we still have so much further to go.

My husband and I came out to the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade supporting Black excellence and entrepreneurship. We served fried catfish plates with fries and bread while sharing information about our business.

Monday Motivation ✨

I want to start sharing what I’m reading, writing, or listening to, and today I’m sharing something I read in Bible study. We’re currently reading The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins.

Today’s focus was navigating adult friendships and the three pillars of friendship. Most friendships shift or fade when one—or more—of these change:

1. Proximity – how often you’re physically around one another. As distance grows, time together naturally changes.
2. Timing – the chapter of life you’re in. When you’re in different seasons, it can be harder to relate.
3. Energy – how you connect. Sometimes the energy shifts over time; it’s either on or off.

This really made me reflect on my girls—my sister circle. I have friends becoming RNs, earning their master’s degrees, working on films 🎥, getting married, having babies, and etc. We may not talk every day, but when we come together, it’s like no time has passed.

I love y’all—my OGs, my day ones, the new and the old. You know who you are. No matter how much time goes by, I love you, I’m here for you, and most importantly, I’m proud of you.
