This client wanted a bright, vibrant copper, but her natural level was too dark to achieve that result without pre-lightening first.

Because of my red hair color knowledge, I knew we didn’t need to lift her to platinum — that would’ve made it almost impossible to hold those beautiful copper tones for long.

That’s actually a common mistake! When we remove too much of the natural underlying pigment, the color can look hollow and fade way faster than it should.
