Gates Driftless Guides
Guided fishing trips on the streams in the beautiful Driftless area of southwest Wisconsin. The trout and small mouth get huge and the scenery is breathtaking.
The Driftless provides a truly unforgettable experience! I recommend that everyone bring a backpack with plenty of water. You will need a pair of waders preferably chest waders. You are welcome to bring your own fishing gear but I will have gear available. My focus is spin casting with various spinners, Rapalas and pin minnows. Follow me on instagram @gates.driftless.guides

Jim Schwartz, Kyson Schwartz and myself hit the Driftless on Sunday and had ourselves a day. The fish were a bit harder to move but we were able to put something together. Any time on the streams in the Driftless is time well spent, especially with great guys like them!

Saturday was an absolute Diamond of a day for Carter Oyen, Connor Oyen and myself. Everything came together and we were treated to an incredible day of trout fishing. Connor even managed to hook up and land a 21" beast. It never ceases to amaze me just how incredible the Driftless area is!

I had the opportunity to spend the day today enjoying the beautiful Driftless with Mark Todd. I am beyond grateful for the life that I get to live in this beautiful world with such incredible scenery and even better company. I am truly blessed!

It's been a rough Spring running the weather gauntlet. We finally got the break we were waiting for and everything else fell right into place. I had an amazing trip with Sam Bayer and Brett Presnal last Sunday. The weather was perfect and the Fish delivered in a big way. We had well over a 100 fish and an absolute blast! These are the days I live for!

Mother Nature has thrown us quite the curve ball but don't be fooled. Before you know it Spring Trout will be fired up and I for one can't wait. I'm doing throwbacks starting at the beginning and will work my way to the present with future posts. Now to get the gear ready to go. Let's set a date and start making new memories!

Well.... That's one Helluva way to close out ice season. I decided to try shiners on my tip-downs, ( strung with 3 # test), and hand line some Pike. Ended up landing a Giant after an epic fight. Huge thank you to Corey Nechkash. This would have been likely impossible without help getting this slob on the ice. I'll miss the ice but can't wait for open water!
