We opened Remedy and Ritual as a retail store first while we limited our hands on services during Covid and learned so much in the process. Our love for skincare and skin health grew and we are thankful for the friendships that we have made with some pretty incredible brands over the years. (We hope to connect you in different ways to these makers in the future!).⁣

Can you believe R+R is almost 4 years old!? When we threw our brand out in the wild I put whatever knowledge I had learned working in retail to the test and created most of the visuals for our brand myself with the help of Canva, Pinterest and endless google searches (with plenty of input from Steph 😂).⁣

When it came time for refreshing my handi work (more like a patch job), I wanted help from the best and the universe provided. is a branding QUEEN. I never knew how far I could deep dive into the intentions to cultivate and grow a brand like R+R and she worked with me to get down to specifics using her magic and when we finished up I was wooooooowed. This is truly the site of my dreams and I can’t wait to build up this bby! ⁣

While we don’t have plans to open online retail anytime soon, we still wanted space to connect to our client base other than social media so our online blog will serve as a guide to the (north) east bay area, with entries on skin tips and tricks, announcements for local events/happenings, features of our favorite small businesses and more! ⁣

When I was growing up in The City, small shops were all I knew. Visiting a big department store was a rare occurrence. I spent hours with my mom exploring tucked-away gems on Fillmore and Valencia, listening to the owners share stories about new items sourced from recent trips or the journey a local artist took to acquire materials for a fine jewelry collection on display. I was always in awe that someone could dedicate their lives to curating beautiful things for people to gift and express their love and appreciation.⁣
⁣
As time passed and I began shopping for my own gifts, I looked for the connection that came from tangible purchases and the time spent in shops seeking treasures for friends and family. It wasn't just about the gift itself but the story behind it. Opening R+R allowed me to host local artists, providing a space to continue sharing the narratives that shaped their small businesses, and it has been such an honor.⁣

When you purchase from a small shop, you're exchanging energies. The transaction passes through the shop owner, contributing to a cycle of creation, connection, and community. My hope for Small Business Saturday is that it serves as a reminder to be intentional this holiday season and beyond.⁣
