I truly loved participating in a meaningful, ancient yet updated ritual 🌟In olden days, cultures and wisdoms viewed the time around the winter solstice as a sacred and special period when the veil between the spirit world and the physical world thins. Where our thoughts, practices and intentions are particularly powerful and will carry momentum throughout the entire year ahead. It is a time to rest, digest the past year and dream up the new. ⠀
✨The 13 Holy Nights as I practiced it came in an Oracle deck form: with Animal, Herb and Mineral cards. On the night of December 24th, I pulled 3 cards that will support and guide me through the entire year. The following 12 days after that represented each month of the 2021 year, and I pulled a card for each. I took note and am looking forward to seeing the synchronicities show up as the year unfolds ✨⠀

It appeared as a perfect answer to a wish from the heart that I made last fall: to discover and implement new meaningful Christmas traditions for my own family🎄 I want my son to grow up with Christmas holding a true magical and spiritual meaning well beyond the commercialized aspects 🌟⠀
This oracle is a keeper. It will become a tradition that my family will look forward to every year - and a practice which I feel will continue to grow more meaningful and more powerful as the years go by 😊⠀

I love to bake - but don’t do it often because I try to maintain a healthy distance from sweet temptations. But for special occasions, it is such a joy to make a dessert from scratch 😋 ⠀

Made with sprouted gluten free baking mix from coconut sugar, maple syrup and dates. ⠀

🥧 Dutch apple pie with homemade coconut milk vanilla bean ice cream. ⠀
🍨 I am really happy with my dairy free ice cream base, it’s rich and creamy and the right amount of sweet. ⠀
The apple pie was entirely organic but I wanted to insure a successful crust so I used gluten flour. However the crumble topping was made gf. The apples were half honeycrisp, half Pink Lady. And I used half as much sugar than suggested. Other than that, I followed recipe to the T 😂⠀

We enjoyed Thanksgiving with new friends this year. People we connect with in regards to how we view life, health and education. It’s been very different from previous Thanksgivings, and really nice. ⠀
