Hello Glory Friends!!

Can you believe that we are heading back into the holiday season once again! Seriously, where does the time go? I just wanted to give you all a heads up that I will be out of the salon from Oct 14-22 for a family trip to Aruba! As most of you know Savannah LOVES to travel haha so off onto another adventure with our NINE year old girl. Yes, you all read that right, she's now 9.
With the holidays approaching quickly if you haven't already made your appointments I highly advise you to reach out to me soon. Especially for those of you that have certain times or days you need to come in. I am working this Monday the 13th so I will try to get back to any messages I receive before leaving. If not I will reach out once I am back home and get you scheduled. Enjoy the Fall and get all your apple & pumpkin fixings you can get! Talk soon

The day you all have asked about has finally come!

Hello to my second family. Most of you have been with me for more years than I can remember. You've walked with me through many life changes and I thank you all for the love and support you've given me everytime. It is with deep sadness and a very heavy heart to inform you all that my dad has finally passed away. He fought for so many years and he is finally at peace. I was so blessed to have spent his 73rd birthday with him on Oct 25th and captured some of his last laughs and smiles.

If it wasn't for my parents love and determination to push me, Crowning Glory wouldn't even exist. Twenty-three years ago they believed I could do something I didn't think I could. Yet, here we are! It was just a little over 6 months after the salon opened that my dad had his first stroke and changed our lives forever. Some of you might remember the numerous nights one of my parents would come sit down at the salon so I wasn't closing it up alone. My dad would sit with his cup of coffee (no matter what time of the day haha) and wait patiently as I cleaned up. Or he would visit during the day to just "check in" and putt around for projects to do. I owe everything to my parents for where I am today.

His services will be next week and once we have the final obituary I will update you then. Thank you again for your continued love and support.

Just wanted to remind everyone!

Hello Glory Friends! As a reminder I will be out of the salon from Feb 10- 27th. My husband and I are finally taking our honeymoon to Costa Rica!!!

When I return I will respond back to all messages as quickly as I can. The first 2 weeks back are already pretty booked up but I will do my best to schedule you in.

I am happy to announce that as of the beginning of March I have a new girl starting in the salon. Most of you will never see her haha because she will be working in my room on my days off. With that being said I will no longer be working Saturdays. My last Saturday to work will be March 11th. Pam will be a great addition to the already amazing team of ladies I have.

Last reminder, if you are texting me make sure it is my cell phone # and NOT the salon #!!!!!!! I have not been able to receive text messages on that number for a year now so please text me at 774-454-2752

Holiday Season Is Around the Corner!!!

Hello Glory Family!!!! Can you guys believe that we are back here again, the holiday season! One of my absolute favorite times of the year and busiest. I'm trying to get a head of everything and not wait til last minute haha. We'll see how that goes! So, I wanted to give you all my updated schedule and time off coming up in the next few months. I have some vacations and I know some of you do too so I wanted to get my schedule out to you all early.

For starters, I wanted to clarify my new schedule because I know there has been some confusion. The only night that was affected with a schedule change was Wednesday. I ONLY work til 4pm on Wednesdays now but I still work MON & THURS til 8pm. Mornings I changed from a 9am start to a 9:30am start. If Mon & Thurs night is already booked and you NEED to get in that particular week I will try to accommodate you on a Tuesday night. Having a busy 6 yr old has definitely changed my availability at being so open. It's not a bad thing but just something to get used to with sticking with a schedule.

HOURS
MONDAY 9:30AM-8PM
WEDNESDAY 9:30AM-4PM
THURSDAY 9:30AM-8PM
SATURDAY (only once a month, on a 4wk schedule) Hours vary

Now the fun part.....vacation time!! Who's going on vacation and where?? I always love hearing about everyone's trips. Gives me ideas on where I want to go to next!

I know October is almost over, ugh so not much to update except I will be leaving work at 2:30pm on Monday 31st to pick up the cutest Unicorn from school and take Trick or Treating.

November: I will not be working my usual Saturday 19th because that is the Thanksgiving Day Parade. I will also be off Wed 23rd-27th to have some quality family time and Wed 30th will be out at 12:30pm for Savannah's half day. I swear she gets more half days than I had my entire school career haha.

December: Schedule as usual until the end of the month. We are surprising Savannah Christmas Morning with a suitcase ready to leave ASAP for Disney!!! I will be off Dec 23rd- Jan 3rd and plan to return back to work on Wed Jan 4th.

January: Rest of the month will be usual schedule

February: The month I have been waiting for, HONEYMOON time!!!!! I will update more accurate dates off once we finalize our flight but as of now I will be off Feb 10-26. As long as our flight doesn't get delayed due to New England snow coming back from Costa Rica I should be back to work on Monday 27th.

Text me, call me, email me if you have specific dates or times that you need!!!! A lot of clients book their appointments well in advance so I can't guarantee having something available if you wait to book one appointment at a time.

"Falling In Love with You Over and Over Again"

Well Glory Friends we did it!!!!! This past Saturday September 10th I had the honor of marrying literally one of the most loving, generous, stubborn haha, and hard working men I have ever known. I am so happy to announce to you that I am now Mrs. Dawn Fernandes!!!! Our day could not have been more beautiful or full of love. Here are some of the pictures that were captured. Trust me I will have plenty more and videos for you all to see during your appointments. We danced the night away and Savannah stole the show (shocking I know haha). She literally danced all night long with us. Thank you to everyone who has sent a congratulations and well wishes. Dave & I have taken some relaxation time to decompress and try to come back to reality. PLEASE read my update for my work schedule below the pictures.

Schedule Change

As much as we love seeing Savannah grow into the young lady she is it also means our lives and schedules must change along with her. Savannah will be taking dance on Mondays & Wednesday nights. Along with my husbands work schedule that leaves me to get her to dance on Wednesdays.

I will no longer be working Wednesday nights!!! I need to leave salon no later than 4pm to get home in time for Dave to get to his 2nd job and for me to get Savannah ready for her dance class. Last haircut appointments will be at 3:30pm, color appts will be 3pm and foils will be at 2:30pm (depending on how long I know it takes).
I do apologize for any inconvenience this causes any of you but, this is one reason why I love being my own boss. I will try to accommodate all of you for night appointments if I'm already booked on that Mon & Thurs.
If you DO NOT need a night appointment and can come during the day please leave the night appointments for those that need it. I have also changed my start time from 9am to 9:30am to give me enough time to drop Savannah off to school and get to the salon without running behind on any of you.

Text Messaging

Happy June Glory Friends!!!! Yay, the warm weather is finally here and we get to enjoy the sunshine. For all of you who have Seniors graduating and going to Prom.....enjoy every moment!!

I want to start off by apologizing to anyone who has been text messaging me on the salon number! It was brought to my attention by a client that she had been texting me since MARCH and I had not responded!!! Then a few other clients told me that they had texted me to reschedule their appointments and again they received NO response. The last text message I received on the salon number was back on March 20th. I have contacted Verizon to try and fix the issue but they have no idea what the problem is. I can still text out to people but, unfortunately I am not receiving any of them.
Going forward please make sure you send your text messages to my cell phone # 774-454-2752. There are times I receive a message and forget to respond back when I get the chance but, it horrifies me that some have tried to get in touch for months with no response. You all mean the world to me and I try my best to respond as quickly as I can. On my days off I may not respond back until I'm back in the salon but, I try my best to get back to you within 24-48hrs. Again, I am SO SORRY to those of you who think I have just been ignoring you because that is not the case.

Schedule Change

OMG, can any of you believe that my baby graduated Pre-K?!?!
I certainly can't because it was just yesterday she was in her car seat sleeping while I did your hair.
Savannah will be 6 yrs old in October and starts Kindergarten in the Fall. Time surely does fly!!!
With that being said, my work schedule will be changing to accommodate having a young one in school. I would like input from all of you though so, I can make sure that my schedule works best for the majority of you.
Starting the last week of August my start time will change to 9:30am instead of 9am to give me enough time to drop her off at school and get to the salon. Not knowing what activities she will be joining or knowing what my (soon to be) husbands schedule will be my end time I will leave as 8pm for now. Dave bartends 3 nights a week along with his full time job so, getting Savannah from school will be up to me in the afternoons. I will be taking a break from 3pm-4pm to give me enough time to get her.

What I need from all of you is:
1. What are the BEST days for you to come in?
2. What is the BEST time of day to come in? 9:30-3 or 4-8pm
3. Email or text me your answers please

As of now my days working have been Mon/Wed/ Thurs and every 4th Saturday, that might change depending on your feedback. I will continue to only work 1 Saturday a month!!

UPCOMING TIME OFF
Also, just a reminder that I am off Monday July 25th and Monday August 15th.
My wedding is Saturday September 10th so I will be working Labor Day Sept 5th and Tues Sept 6th of that week. I will be off (as of now) Sept 8-18, those dates might change but, I would like us to plan your appointments accordingly.
At your next hair appointment I would like for us to get all of your appointments booked through the rest of the year. We will be taking a family vacation Dec 25th-Jan 3rd so let's make sure all of your appointments are set!!!!

Can you believe we are in month two of 2022 already??

Good morning Glory Friends,

I just wanted to send out a reminder that all price increases for services started this month. If you would like to know what your new total will be before coming for your appointment please feel free to call me or send me a message.
I'd also like to update you that the Mask Mandate has been lifted in the salon! Please respect others decisions if they decide to wear or not wear a mask. After dealing with Covid for 2 yrs we feel that YOU know by now what you need or want to do for yourself and we respect your decisions. If you would still like your stylist to wear a mask by all means just ask and we are happy to do so.

Treasure each & everyday as if it's your last!

Hello Glory Friends,

Well to say that 2022 has not started out the way I expected would be an understatement! I know some of you have reached out to me about the Mask Mandate in town and here is what I have to say.
It continues to be an ongoing war of protocols! I am always conflicted on what to do when it comes to some of the mandates because I truly believe that as adults we should have the right to make certain decisions for ourselves. Not everyone agrees and not everyone feels the same. But, at the same time I have to make my decisions on how the majority feels. I watched the Board of Health meeting and listened to everyone's side and honestly I was surprised they kept it because they had plenty of Business owners write to them who are against it. Along with the town of Plymouth not wanting it as a mandate but, instead an advisory yet they still kept it. Again everyone feels differently and most who I have talked to are upset by the mandate but the salon as a whole sat and discussed how we felt at this time and have decided to keep the mandate in place.
Our decision was made because over the holidays some of us stylists ended up testing positive with Covid. For how close we are to you we want to make sure we take every precaution over the next few weeks. I want you all to feel comfortable so if you do object to the mask I don't have an issue with you taking it off once in my room but please wear it through the salon for the comfort of everyone else.
Last week we sadly lost one of our own, Catherine Weinstein. Some of you may never have seen her but, Catherine had been with me for about 10yrs and she will be missed every day. We are not sure if Covid played a role in her passing but, it really it home for us girls to lose her.
Please stay safe and hopefully this will be the year of us getting back to normalcy!

Price Increase

As we all know inflation is everywhere. I have taken some financial classes over the past few months to help give me a better understanding on what would help make my business more successful. What I learned was very eye opening!! It's crazy how someone can be in business for 20yrs and still learn new things. With that being said I will be revamping how I go about pricing my services. Not all services will have an increase and all increases won't happen all at once.

At your next appointment I will explain to everyone how the new pricing will affect your services.

Basic Increase that will start in February is:
Cut & Style will be $45 instead of $40
Clipper Cuts will be $28 instead of $25

All other services will be discussed at your next appointment. Thank you for your continued support and understanding. Having amazing clients like all of you is what makes me love my job everyday. Let's have a wonderful 2022!!
