🌊 Can Kids Swim with Their Queen of the Sea? 🌊
One of the questions we hear most is:
💦 "Can they swim with it?"
👑 "How long will it last?"
So... we put it to the test!
This is Aurora's Deluxe Queen of the Sea.
📸 Day 1: Fresh out of the salon.
🏊 For the next week? She swam in the pool every single day, slept in it every night, played outside, and enjoyed everything summer has to offer.
📸 One Week Later: Here's the result!
Is it still "day one perfect?" Of course not! A week of swimming, sleeping, and playing will naturally create a few flyaways and some fuzz. But the braids, bubble braids, and vibrant colors are still holding up beautifully.

So today's video is about Shichigahama. Alot of people on Plymouth do not know about our sister city program so let me explain.
Every year we have a cultural exchange program where we either send a delegate of high schoolers and educators to shichigahama or they send their high schoolers and educators here to Plymouth where we can share in a 10 day cultural exchange.
I was a delegate for this program in 2006-2007. Then I was offered a summer abroad program. I had wanted to do my senior year there but it was not to be at that time.
I built a really strong relationship with the program taking to heart that I was a delegate for life and a close connection with the family that hosted me, the Satos. I decided I would continue visiting Shichigahama every 5 years independent of the program.
We missed out on our last visit due to covid but otherwise I have stayed pretty true to the plan. I am hopeful that this exchange can continue on and help inspire more people to continue to learn about Japan and vice versa.
This last visit I learned a lot about the destruction of the 2011 tsunami. Before that, I had only learned of the recovery efforts had I helped raise money etc etc. You'll see in this video pictures of a school that people took shelter in. Nearly all of the buildings around this school were completely washed away leaving nothing but empty plains not even trees could grow in due to the salted earth.
My family has always treated me like one of their own planning fun events for us and letting my kids get to meet with theirs. This was the most memorable and special part of my vacation and I am grateful to get to share it with all of you.

Ashley is back from Japan and excited to share some clips from her trip first leg of her trip took place in Kyoto!

Hello everyone. It's been a minute since I've offered updates on what I'm doing so I thought I'd share a few pictures. We found a super cute cafe that has fluffy pancakes. We also got to spend some time meeting geishas and playing games with them! Feel free to check it out!
The salon is still open while I'm away it's usual hours. And I will be returning to my normal schedule on the 17th of may. I will be doing a single day on the 11th as well!

If you can believe it 24 hours of nonstop traveling but we finally made it to our place in Kyoto. Just thought I'd offer an update!
