💧☀️ Coach Kodiak’s Smart Hydration Tips for Summer Training
When temperatures climb, hydration becomes one of the most important parts of your training plan.
Here are three simple ways to stay ahead of the heat:
⚡ 1. Use Electrolyte Beverages When Needed
Options like Gatorade Zero, Propel, Liquid I.V., and other electrolyte drinks can help replace minerals lost through sweat and support hydration during hot days, long workouts, or outdoor activities.
🏋️ 2. Adjust Your Workouts on Hot Days
There's no shame in training smarter. Consider reducing workout intensity, taking longer rest periods, or lowering volume when temperatures are extreme. This can help reduce fatigue and lower the risk of overheating.
🧠 3. Pay Attention to Your Body
Feeling unusually fatigued, dizzy, lightheaded, or struggling to recover? Those can be signs that your body needs more hydration, rest, or a change in training intensity.
Remember, fitness isn't about pushing through every obstacle at all costs—it's about making smart decisions that keep you progressing safely and consistently.
👉 Stay hydrated, listen to your body, and train smart this summer.

☀️💪 Coach Ellie’s Tips for Recovering From Heat Training
Training during the summer can be incredibly effective—but it also places extra stress on your body.
When you're exercising in the heat, your body has to work much harder to keep your core temperature under control. That means recovery becomes even more important if you want to continue performing at your best.
💧 Stay hydrated before, during, and after your workouts. Waiting until you're thirsty is often too late.
⚡ Don't forget your electrolytes. When you're sweating more, you're losing important minerals that help support performance, hydration, and muscle function.
🥩 Prioritize protein and nutrition. Your body needs the building blocks to repair and recover from hard training sessions.
😴 Get plenty of rest. Quality sleep is where much of your muscular recovery happens and helps prepare you for your next workout.
The better you recover, the better you'll perform—especially during the hottest months of the year.

🧘♀️💪 Coach Tracy's Active Recovery & Mobility Routine
Recovery isn't just about taking days off—it's about helping your body move better, recover faster, and stay ready for your next workout.
Here are 5 of Coach Tracy's favorite mobility drills:
✔️ Pike to Cobra
Stretch the hamstrings, calves, core, and front of the body while improving spinal mobility.
Regression: Perform a standing toe touch to gentle back extension if getting to the floor is difficult.
✔️ Lizard Stretch (Mobility Mountain Climber) with Torso Twist
Great for opening the hips, groin, hip flexors, and thoracic spine.
Regression: Drop the back knee to the floor and perform a smaller twist.
✔️ Pigeon Stretch
Targets the glutes, piriformis, and hips—especially helpful after running, squatting, or prolonged sitting.
Regression: Perform a seated figure-4 stretch from a chair or bench.
✔️ Bridge to Back Bend Progression
Start by lifting the hips into a bridge position, gradually working to elevate through the shoulders and extend through the spine.
Regression: Traditional glute bridge holds or elevated bridges on a bench.
✔️ Plow Pose
Lying flat and bringing the legs up and overhead can help improve spinal mobility and posterior chain flexibility.
Regression: Reverse crunches or lying leg raises while keeping the hips on the floor.
Remember: mobility should challenge you, not cause pain. Move slowly, breathe deeply, and work within your current range of motion.
A few minutes of mobility work can improve recovery, reduce stiffness, and help keep you moving well for years to come.

☀️ Coach Ellie’s 5 Tips to Beat the Summer Heat ☀️
Summer is a great time to get outside and stay active, but the heat can add extra stress to your workouts and recovery. Here are 5 simple tips to help you stay safe and perform your best:
💧 1. Stay Hydrated
Don't wait until you're thirsty. Make hydration a priority throughout the day, especially before and after activity.
🌤️ 2. Avoid the Hottest Part of the Day
If possible, plan outdoor workouts during the morning or evening when temperatures are lower.
👕 3. Wear Lightweight, Breathable Clothing
Choose moisture-wicking fabrics that help your body cool itself more effectively.
🏃 4. Adjust Your Intensity
Heat increases the demands on your body. It's okay to slow the pace, take longer breaks, or reduce volume when temperatures are high.
🧠 5. Listen to Your Body
If you feel dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous, or unusually fatigued, stop and cool down. Your body is giving you important feedback.
A smart workout is always better than pushing through conditions that could put your health at risk. Stay cool, stay safe, and keep moving this summer! 💪☀️
