Today was meant to mark my return from maternity leave, but it's far too soon for that. Now that Lui is here, I want to wrap her up with all of my time and energy. SM Co. has been in a limbo for several years now, and I struggle with the half-in/half-out nature of it all. Since hitting pause on our website, I've been able to relinquish all business-related responsibilities. This has given me the space I needed to feel confident enough to pull the plug on a decade's worth of work.

I've found myself taking interest in the things that I used to love that SM Co left me no time for. This has been physically and emotionally healing. So it's without a heavy heart that I write this, but rather with a full one. I am beyond blessed to have served you and met so many incredible individuals throughout this journey. I hope to still show up in one way or another.

Thank you for being here with us and for making the last ten years something I'm very proud of. I look forward to telling Lui all about it one day. Maybe by then, she'll be hands deep in something new and fun with me. Or maybe we'll just be soaking up the sun.

Baby Lui and Mommy are doing great! We're so proud of her for hitting all of her weekly milestones. She made it just over 3 lbs last night. No more IV, breathes great off of her cpap, and is tolerating feeds. She is very fiesty and has a tendency to boss her nurses around when it comes to which face mask she wears. I don't think she'll ever have a problem speaking up for herself.

Thank you all for being so understanding and patient with me. Navigating business in the midst of a family/medical crisis is challenging, to say the least. We're getting caught up on orders, and I expect to have deodorants and face mists ready by next week. Orders are being shipped out once a week on Wednesdays.

I will close orders on November 15, 2025 and plan to reopen sales again on February 1, 2026.

Baby Lui made her arrival at 31 weeks + 3 days weighing only 2 lbs 14 oz. After being diagnosed with severe preeclampsia, our medical team hoped for a 3 week hospital stay that would result in birth at 34 weeks. Those 3 weeks were quickly condensed into 24 hours. We made it through safely thanks to an amazing labor and delivery team at Cabell Huntington Hospital. We have a long recovery ahead but a promising one.

I will be reaching out individually, but if you have orders in at this time, shipment of those will be delayed. I apologize for the inconvenience, but hope you understand. I will leave orders open until my original Maternity Leave date, November 15th, but shipments will be made sparsely as I need to tend to baby girl while in NICU an hour away from our home and shop.

Thank you all for supporting this business and for all of your kind words and wishes. I'm looking forward to this next journey that Nic and I have worked so hard to get to. I'm not quite sure what will become of SM Co in the coming months, but will be sure to update you soon. Until then, I would like to focus solely on snuggling and nurturing our little miracle baby. ✨️ 🌈
