"True beauty is not seen in a mirror. It is seen in the reflection of your soul." Come help me celebrate you.

There is beauty in all of us and I want to help you discover it, how I discovered it for myself, starting with something so simple as skincare.

What do you do during a hurricane and the aftermath with no electricity? Work on a project "Green Vine Cottage" ordered from plymagic.com

This one had a couple of hiccups due to unclear instructions with the hinges and the lights. Luckily I was able to take it apart and fix it. Other than that it was an easy build even though it's considered to be an intermediate level. Give these a try, you'll love it!

When I ordered my first bunch of diamond art, I ordered a couple of different kinds/styles of kits just to see what I would like from ecoolbuy.com

The previous post was a Partial Diamond Painting that had a little bit of pearls. This kit was a 8"x8" framed Pearl Art kit, so it comes like a painting canvas. It comes in several different prints for Christmas. It does take a bit to arrive, so now is the time to order. They are very pretty and display ready. Can be done in a day.

This was a kit from the very first order of diamond painting kits placed from ecoolbuy.com that comes from Asia. It took about 3-4 weeks to come but at least it had tracking available.

This is a 20x20 cm partial diamond painting and although it looks pretty, I wouldn't order another partial kit. Because I'm not planning to frame or display these, it's strictly for entertainment purposes, πŸ˜† it really is a waste of $$, for MY purpose.

This kit was a little more expensive than the one I bought from Amazon and I don't like the canvas. The Amazon kit had a softer material canvas which made it easier to flatten out. This canvas, and the other ones I bought from this company, is a lot more stiff and plasticky that I was not able to flatten it out so you can see the waves. I will see if the other kits will lay flat as they are full round diamond kits.

Finished my first Diamond Painting. It became a popular activity during Covid and I must admit that it is a very relaxing project. But... only for an hour or two at a time πŸ˜†, age permitting.

I started looking for activities to just occupy my time and doing something I just enjoyed. This turned out better than I thought. The drill bits were a combination of dull and sparkle, the canvas flattened out nicely (read that because they come rolled up, the cheap ones don't. Depends on material), and the glue surface was good that diamond stays put.

So all in all, I love it. It's enjoyable. I have no intention of framing them, so what am I going to do with them? I have no idea πŸ˜©πŸ˜‚ but they look nice. Amazon purchase

Finished the last of my Asian theme miniature dollhouses, sort of πŸ˜†. "Kasuga Grocery Store" ordered from auderia.com

Although they sent me a different kit from what I actually ordered (my previous build, I ordered this one), I would order from them again 😁. These projects all come from Asian, it's just that some companies are distributers and located in other countries.

So stay tuned to my future builds because I do have more πŸ˜‚. I forgot I ordered 2 kits that came a couple of days ago but they are not Asian themed.

My new crafting activity... diamond art! This isn't exactly what I was going to start with, it was supposed to be pearl art but that was again coming from Asia. So it's going to take a bit to arrive, probably another week or so.

So, I decided to order these cheap kits from Amazon just to try out because I couldn't wait πŸ˜†. I bought a kit of 3 30x40 cm prints for like $17. Photo 2 shows what came with each canvas: canvas covered by a thin film to protect glue surface, 26 different color diamonds (or drill bits), a small tray, plastic setting tool, a tiny thing of wax for the tool, and a couple of small zip lock bags. I ended up buying a couple different pens, a storage case which I was glad I did, pre-cut 4"x4" release paper, and a thing of sorting trays.

Although the canvas comes with the protective film that you can just pull back when working on your piece, I bought the 4x4 sheets so that I could just work on small areas at a time and not damage the glue from the rest of the canvas every time I pull the film back. If you have pets be careful of fur getting on the canvas.

Also, if you have never done diamond art before, do your research first because you get what you pay for. You need to keep in mind that each drill bit is like a pixel of a photo so the more detailed the picture the more pixelated it becomes so canvas size matters. Oh and yes the drill bits are very tiny... smaller than what I thought.

This is what I bought from Amazon EIBEILI Scenery Diamond Art Kits. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

"The Mellow Pub" purchased from auderia.com πŸ˜† and just realized this was not the kit I had ordered πŸ™„. I had actually ordered a different one. But this turned out to be one of my favorite builds because it was so detailed 🀭

I will be doing 1 more, finishing up my stash of mini dollhouses and will move on to a different kind of crafting... but I have 2 more kits so will get back to it.

So on to the next project, it's coming in the mail today... so excited to try it and we'll see if I enjoy it. Stay tune

How cute are these... I just did these miniatures builds that fit in the palm of my hand. Purchased from cutebee.net and comes in a kit of 4, each the size of a DVD movie case.

I took 1-2 days for each but can be done in a couple of hours. Box says .5 to 1 hour. I'm just slow πŸ˜†

Although the pieces are smaller, it's not that difficult to build so I wouldn't say it's harder to put together. In my opinion it's the same. The only thing I didn't like, it doesn't come with a light source. So I think I'm going to see if I can find something, maybe fairy lights? Suggestions or ideas?

If there's anyone who's into building miniatures, and it doesn't have to be book nooks, please feel free to share your builds and your experiences. I will post a photo in the comments so you can see the difference in the size.

Just completed "The Coffee House" purchased from a different company, tinycraft.co and was happy that they delivered to Kauai.

Wanted to do something different and it was. However, not going to lie... this was my least favorite project. Although it was a little challenging, I still somewhat enjoyed it but it did require a LOT MORE patience πŸ˜†.

This kit had a lot of paper builds, which I didn't care for, and a lot of small pieces that had to be clued down. I live in an area where it rains a lot and is quite damp so paper items tend to stay damp which becomes limp. In fact a lot of pieces did not have notches to secure them to the walls or floor. This kit also didn't have any replacement pieces, and I did break a couple 😩😬.

Also this project had an additional feature which separate parts needing to be ordered and it was not indicated when I ordered it, leaving a hole where it goes but then again this is not an enclosed project so it's all open. In fact there is no closed compartment for the battery pack it just sits in a hole in the back.

Despite my issues, it was still a good project just not my cup of tea and it still came out looking great.

Recently finished my 4th Mini Dollhouse. These are my absolute favorite builds (lol... can't believe that this is the only build that I didn't have an extra piece πŸ˜† I failed to put in).

"Kirishima Cha-an" purchased from cutebee.net and of course it's the company that doesn't ship to Kauai. And of course it's my favorite company to purchase from 😩 ugh. Out of curiosity, does anyone else in Hawaii order from this company and able to get delivery?

These DIY projects are very enjoyable and easy to build with easy to follow instructions. The only thing I would recommend, glue everything even if it doesn't call for it. The pieces may appear tight but sometimes when you hammer a piece in the vibration may cause another piece somewhere else to come out. And if it's a tiny piece from a tight area, you won't be able to put it back in without dissembling the entire thing which then causes the pieces to become loose. It's fun!

I will post a photo in the comments of all my Asian themed builds that I completed.
