I’m ready to address the elephant in the room. I wrapped myself up in a cocoon for a while after a soul crushing discovery. After working my butt off for years, I had finally made it… at least I thought I did. Teaching, traveling, training students, working alongside industry idols, award shows, and working behind the chair in my salon. It was everything I wanted until it wasn’t. I was working 7 days a week 12+ hours a day and running myself into the ground, and I quickly realized I was not where I thought I wanted to be. One thing I will NEVER do is compromise my integrity and morals for a status or a paycheck. I will walk away every time if something doesn’t align with me.
So I did.
I left my suite, I quit teaching, and I was extremely burnt out wondering what was next for me. It was devastating. I decided after three years to attend a hair show for the first time since stepping back. It became clear that this industry has shifted and I left feeling empty and disappointed. It reminded me how important education truly is for us and future stylists, and I remembered my purpose.
I absolutely love teaching. I always have, and I am ready to cultivate a space for stylists to thrive and be successful. In house education, one on one training, team building, and guidance to help stylists reach their goals and grow their businesses. That’s what I want. That’s what we need! And that’s what I’m gonna do.
