I’m sure you all know by now that I’m McKenzie Smith and I am a licensed cosmetologist located here in Poplar Bluff Missouri. 🎀📍

I know how hard it can be when the start of a school year rolls around, I’ve been there, done that.

Let’s be honest school supplies are NOT cheap!! ☹️
Neither are the new clothes you have to buy on top of that! 👕🖍️📚

I know that money is hard to come by these days in general, and in a time like this trying to squeeze a $40.00 hair cut in seems almost impossible.

But hopefully, I can make this easier on you and your sweet kiddos!! ❤️

I will be hosting an all day back to school shebang!!

I will be doing a “PAY WHAT YOU CAN” back to school bash! 💥😊

This means you can bring your kiddo in and you guys can decide how you would like to pay! I think this would be super fun and exciting for the community!

If you know me I love all things cool fun and useful!

You could come in with a paper clip, a used candle, or a napkin and your kiddos will be getting a hair cut!

Heck you could even bring a rock! I do not mind at all! ❤️😊

Let’s talk about consultations- Consultations are one of the most important parts of a stylist’s job because they build trust, set realistic expectations, and ensure clear communication before any service begins. A thorough consultation allows the stylist to understand the client’s hair history, lifestyle, goals, and maintenance routine while also protecting the integrity of the hair. It helps prevent misunderstandings, creates a personalized experience, and leads to better, more consistent results for both the client and stylist.

The 24 hour window of change- A 24-hour policy for reporting concerns about a hair service helps ensure any issues are addressed promptly while the service is still fresh and manageable to correct. Hair can change over time due to at-home products, washing habits, heat styling, swimming, or outside chemical services, so contacting the me within 24 hours allows for the most accurate evaluation of the original work. This policy also helps maintain fairness, clear communication, and professional standards for both the stylist and client.

The nonrefundable policy- I do not offer refunds because hair services are a customized service where time, product, and expertise are already used once the service is completed. Instead, I offer to correct any concerns because my priority is your satisfaction and the integrity of your hair. This allows me to see the hair in person and make professional adjustments to achieve the best possible result while keeping your hair healthy.

Two week color guarantee- I offer a 2-week color guarantee so you have enough time to see how your color settles after washing and daily styling, while still keeping it within a window where I can accurately evaluate the original result. During that time, any true tonal or application concerns can be addressed and corrected if needed. This helps ensure fairness and allows me to maintain the integrity of my work, since hair can naturally shift due to at-home care, products, and heat styling.

with this being said I absolutely love and appreciate all my clients that have came to see me. I cannot wait to see all the new faces that this year is going to bring me! Thank you all for your support and loyalty. ❤️

It absolutely tears me to announce this but due to the price of products now I am having to raise my prices slightly for color & highlighting services.
This will be a slight adjustment and will begin in the upcoming month June 1, 2026.
But luckily to know me is to know that I run deals and specials pretty often to help pay back for you all supporting my business.
