As a Personal Trainer, clients will tell me that they have issues with the gym.

I’ve heard-

I have no time.

Me- daily activities- work- 8 hours and sleep 8 hours. That leaves 8 hours…. Check to see how much time you spent on your phone daily last week. 😳

What do I wear?

Me- Non restrictive clothing. Moisture wicking… supportive shoes. No need for $$$ gym wear.

I don’t like people watching me.

Me- we’re so into ourselves, we’re not watching you. Those mirrors aren’t there for decor.

Those issues can all be corrected with an at home gym.

Free weights.
Band.
B***y bands.

And/or a Home Gym Unit.

I always had a Home Gym- a free standing unit, treadmill, Gazelle- (remember that Tony Little thingie) until I met my husband. He didn’t have any room in his house and had a Stairmaster in his garage.

Cardio in a garage in Florida? Yeah… don’t like that.

The home we bought here has 3 bedrooms like our previous home here but we don’t need a designated office anymore- sooo we were going to put together our home gym.

I visited my daughter last month and she has a Marcy Unit that the previous owners left there.

I used it and came home and bought my own!

Left it in the garage and I LOVE using it there!!

Wear what I want ✔️
Nobody watching ✔️

I’m also really liking the hot workout.

Hung out yesterday with a former coworker.

We tried unsuccessfully to reach each other when I moved to Portugal but thru divine intervention- we saw each other last week- working at the same Retirement Community!

She wasn’t working at the same place here and neither of us had current phone numbers, so this has been quite a thrill to reconnect.

It’s not lost on us having this opportunity- how could you not appreciate being back home when you have SO MANY MOMENTS like this???

Yeah…. Bittersweet to leave Portugal but there has been no denying all of the signs that we are right where we should be.

The thing is- my chair is a Safe Place. When my client leaves the chair, I shut down the chat and reboot for the next client.

Apparently things get lost in the reboot.

I recently had an experience that I want to share.

I was offered and accepted a Salon Management position. For reasons I will not share here- I decided to leave the position after about 10 days.

I was told the challenges and issues I would face and I was up for the challenge. I have been a “Fixer” several times over in different areas of my Career. Years ago, a company actually said they were hiring me to be their Tabitha- like the Stylist from the TV show- to help streamline their Salons.

Well, what I didn’t expect at this Salon was all of the Staff sharing that they dislike their jobs there. I heard story after story, laced with complaints. It’s unusual to hear that from every single Stylist.

Now- I’m not ever gonna commiserate with anyone. I’m not wired that way.

I said to them-if you dislike it here as much as you say- why are you still here? Why do you stay? For YEARS??!?

I shared that if you are in ANY relationship and you’re not happy- why do you stay? What conversation needs to happen to change this?

That made me think- how many of us stay in situations/relationships and are not happy?

Why do you stay?

I’ve said this many times over the years- There’s no prize money for staying. 😉

Good Morning from the Farm!

This is exactly what I thought while in Portugal.

No licensing for Hair, Nails or Tattooing.

They THINK they know what they’re doing.

I met one Stylist from South Africa that was licensed but even she was lacking.

She didn’t even have Barbicide in the Salon.

I knew there was no Licensing there but not until we arrived and I visited Salons did I really see the reality of what that meant.

I stand by my comment- in the area in which we lived- it was a S**t Show.
