Today is the last day to register for The Deep Unwind.

If some part of you has been waiting, hoping, meaning to, this is the moment that waiting turns into a decision.

WHY DOESN’T WORKING WHERE IT HURTS ALWAYS SOLVE THE PROBLEM?

“My shoulder hurts. Why are you working somewhere else?”

It’s a reasonable question, and one I hear in the treatment room.

The place where you feel discomfort isn’t necessarily the only place worth exploring.

Fascia creates continuous relationships throughout the body. When I’m working with someone, I’m paying attention not only to where they hurt, but to where the tissue leads me.

Where does movement change?

Where do I feel restriction?

What happens somewhere else in the body when we begin working here?
Where does curiosity lead us?
Also, what changes when we wait?
This is one of the things I find so fascinating about Myofascial Release.

Instead of looking at the body as a collection of separate parts, we get curious about the relationships between them.

Sometimes the place that hurts is part of a much larger conversation.

Holding space.

It’s a phrase we hear often in wellness work, but it doesn’t have to mean anything mysterious.

To me, holding space means creating the conditions where another person has room to experience what is happening in their own body—without being rushed, corrected, or pushed toward a particular outcome.

It means paying attention without immediately trying to fix.

Allowing quiet without needing to fill it.

Waiting long enough for the body to respond rather than deciding what the response should be.

Sometimes the most useful thing I can offer isn’t another technique. It’s enough safety, time, and attention for someone to become curious about what they are feeling.

This is an important part of how I approach Myofascial Release, sound and vibration, and hypnotherapy.

The work is client-led.

I’m listening.
You’re listening. Aimee Slater-West
