I get asked almost daily what kind of education I needed to become a scalp therapist.. and the answer is none.

As a licensed cosmetologist in Washington State, I didn't NEED to take any extra classes.

But as someone who fears being asked a question that I don't know the answer to, I wanted to.

I took SEVERAL. A few were virtual, a couple were in-person lecture style classes.. and they were so dull. Larger class sizes, more focused on selling products or getting you to invest in certain product line.

This is the type of educational experience I have been craving since I became a hair stylist. Small class size, hands on, intentional learning.

I tend to be an anxious person, but when I got to Rochelle's salon for class, I immediately felt better. There was only one other person in class with me, so there was no pressure of a large group (ew) Her presence is welcoming, and I felt like she really cared about me even though we had only just met.
