Hi all, just want to share a story about why I love my job. Had an older gentleman in my chair today. It was early afternoon, seemed serious and quiet so I just got down to business. At one point when I had to turn him in the chair and we were facing US1. I looked up at the traffic and said "Oh my God look at the traffic, if my Dad was still here he'd say " Doesn't anyone work anymore?!" His whole demeanor completely changed and he said " I can't believe you just said that. My Dad used to say the same thing!" It was a really nice moment where two people were reminded and connected by people they miss. Good day!!

UPDATE:
Detectives are still searching for a missing boater identified as 50-year-old Brian Ronshausen. Brian was last observed launching a small boat from Stan Blum boat ramp on January 8, 2024, at approximately 11 p.m. His boat was found floating north of the North Beach Bridge early this morning.

SLCSO AND COAST GUARD SEARCH FOR MISSING BOATER
At approximately 3 a.m., a concerned boater contacted 911 after locating an unoccupied Carolina Skiff in the channel near Riverside Marina. Sheriff’s Office deputies responded along with the Coast Guard to investigate. At this time, a 50-year-old man is presumed missing. Air units will assist in the search once day breaks. Expect a large law enforcement presence along the shoreline as Sheriff’s Office deputies continue their search.
