Sweet Summer time☀️
Some things to keep in mind:
🍒I’ll be taking a vacation to Travese City for 5 days this month.
🗓️ I am opening my schedule to see clients on Monday June 29th.
🎆 I’ll be closed Saturday July 4th but still available on the days leading up to the 4th.
These dates sound far away, but time moves a little faster during summer, unfortunately. Book online or reach out for questions or scheduling! Don’t forget your SPF this summer!😎

Did you know that Pickleball has became so popular that tennis elbow is now being referred to as pickleball elbow?
Knowing the difference is key! Golfer’s elbow and tennis elbow can also be triggered by weight training and throwing movements, like disc golf or baseball/softball.
You also don’t have to play sports to develop golfer’s or tennis elbow. It can be brought on by: manual labor, use of hand tools, painting, or even being on your phone or kindle too much and having your arm bent for long periods of time.
Remember RICE:
R - Rest
I - Ice
C - Compression
E - Elevation
To add more to your recovery, try massage therapy and stretching to keep you going this summer!☀️🏓🎾⛳️

A little about me ✨
I’ve gain more followers recently, so allow me to reintroduce myself!
Hi, my name is Makayla Born, I’m a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Licensed Esthetician. I’ve been practicing esthetics for almost 9 years and I’ve been practicing massage for 8 years.
Massage therapy is where my heart is, I describe my style as gentle but therapeutic, and I allow the client’s body to relax naturally before “digging” into the muscles to release knots/tension. I enjoy working with a variety of clients, especially those who have chronic headaches/migraines, neck and shoulder tension from desk jobs, and soreness from leisurely sports/activities.
I’m a dabbler in lymphatic work, scar tissue work, and sinus draining using silicone cups, and I’m certified in massage cupping, hot stones, and other modalities that I offer as add-ons to my massage sessions. Because I’m a licensed esthetician, I’m able to offer mini facial and full body exfoliations as well!
Some fun facts about me:
📚 This year I started getting into reading books, I enjoy reading memoirs, historical fictions, dramas and biographies. Find me on Goodreads, I’m always looking for friends to follow on there for book ideas!
🐾 I’m a dog mom to a geriatric pekinese/poodle mix named Bentley, he just turned 13 this month.
💜 I’m a wife to my loving husband, Alex, for 3 years but we’ve been together just shy of 6 years.
🎶 When I’m not listening to spa music all day, I love listening to 90’s music, 2000’s & 2010’s alternative music, and some of today’s hits.
If you have questions about massage therapy or interested in booking a session, please feel free to message me!

Did you know I offer mini facials and other spa services?
It’s true! Not only am I a licensed massage therapist, I am also a licensed esthetician, which means I can offer more relaxing services targeting skin health!
Add a mini facial to any massage for an additional $30, or try a 45 minute mini facial spa service for $75. I also offer other spa services like:
60 minute full body exfoliations, great for buffing away dead skin from the harsh winter. 🧴
30 minute sinus treatments, to give you some relief from seasonal allergies and pollen season. 🤧
Book online through Vagaro under “Spa Services” or book a massage and choose from a variety of relaxing add-ons! 📲📆
I love what I do, and I feel honored everyday when a client chooses me 💜
Times are hard, that’s why I offer 10% off your session if you leave review about your session on Vagaro or Google. I also offer 5% off your session or a free add-on during your birthday month.
Self-care is important, but it’s especially important during stressful times. Take a walk, find a good book, or simply sit outside and take in the fresh air and the sounds of nature. ☀️🍃🕊️

New laundry detergent alert 🚨
Trying out a new detergent by that will hopefully tackle oil stains a little better than previous detergents that I’ve used and still gentle for people with sensitive skin and gentle on my linens!
Please let me know if you experience any dermatitis after your massage that you think might be caused by my laundry detergent. Or if the scent is too much, because I did also purchase the non scented detergent just in case. 🫧
What to expect when you’re expecting! Specifically during a prenatal massage 🤰
I practice side-laying prenatal massage, I usually start with the client laying on their right side, then midway, have them roll onto their left side. There’s a pillow to support the head, a pillow in between the knees, and a pillow to hold onto or to support your shoulder.
What’s great about side-laying is that it’s easy to accommodate comfort if the mother-to-be is carrying low or high or if baby decides to move positions. A lot of clients who have received prenatal massages, often comment how they were able to relax and even fall asleep, that they desperately need, especially towards the end of their third trimester.
If you are expecting a baby this year, consider prenatal massages to help with your pregnancy aches and pains, while your body transitions through each trimester.
