i really debated whether i wanted to post this or not, i don’t assign much meaning to the new year but turning 30 made me feel more reflective. i struggled a lot this year and something that i don’t want to do anymore is wallow in the frustration. i couldn’t control the things that happened this year (like the economic challenges the beauty industry experienced this year) but what i can do is figure out how to make my business more sustainable to survive those types of situations.

money issues cause me a lot of anxiety. i’ve always been lower income, my parents were low income and i’ve worked min wage jobs most of my life. working for myself was the first time i’ve been able to make a living wage and when things got rough this year i panicked thinking i was going to have to return back to retail/fast food and lose my business that i’ve worked so hard to build.

there is no shame in having to pick up another job when working for yourself. i’m not sure why people judge this more harshly when you’re working for yourself, i know plenty of people who work for major corporations and still have to have a second job to get by. this is a reflection of the country we live in, where company profits are prioritized over the people making them their profits. we shouldn’t *have* to work multiple jobs to get by, but it’s also not a sign of failure on your part.

i know eventually my time in the esthetics industry will end, but i am hopefully that when that time comes it will be my decision and because i am ready to transition into a different career. i’m thankful i get to spend another year with my lovely clients, you all have made my year so much better. i genuinely enjoy each and every appointment we spend together. 💚

classic+ lashes have replaced traditional classic lashes for me!

when i started out doing lashes, i only did classic. and i enjoyed it but you’re kind of limited in filling out a sparse lash line and texture doesn’t always show up super well.

i switched to classic+ (also called angel lashes) because they let me control the thickness of the lash bundle so i can customize each bundle to the natural lash it’s applied to. using bundles of mega volume extensions means they are also lighter in weight than traditional classic lashes, require less adhesive, and allow me to wrap for better retention!

some of that may not make sense if you’re a client, buttttt basically what i’m saying is they’re more customizable but still give you that clean, classic look. 😌

classic lashes vs lash lift 💚

both gorgeous! the biggest difference between the services is the ability to lengthen the natural lash.

lash lifts will make shorter lashes appear longer, because you are seeing more of your lash once lifted. but they do not actually make your lashes longer.

lash extensions literally extend from the natural lash allowing us to lengthen your lashes to create a different shape.

if you love the way your lashes look with mascara, you’ll probably love a lash lift! but if you find you don’t like the shape of your natural lashes, lash extensions may be your preferred service. 💚
