I'm Daija, a Curly Hair Specialist based in Southern Maine. I've been doing hair for seven years and exclusively curly hair for six years. I opened Daija’s Curl Bar LLC in February of 2023.

I've always wanted to be a cosmetologist for as long as I can remember, specializing in curls became my dream when I was 16 years old. I felt like I finally got a grasp on how to handle my curls and I wanted to be able to teach others that curly hair doesn't have to be a chore.

I’m a very shy, introverted 25 year old. I thrive on quiet environments with little to no people. That’s why I opened my own suite, so I could enjoy being a hairstylist without having to compromise who I am. In my salon you’ll receive one on one treatment. Just you and I, no assistants and no other clients! Your whole appointment dedicated to you!

I love being a Curl Specialist because it allows so much opportunity to learn and to teach! The confidence and joy that comes across each of my clients faces when they learn how to care for their curls is so rewarding!

A little more about me, I'm a Mainer, born and raised. I love the beach, traveling, and reading a good psychological thriller! Outside of the salon I’m a full time Event Coordinator in Windham, ME.

If I'm not at my suite you can find me, buried in a book, dreaming of my next vacation or chasing a sunset.

I'm looking to sublet my salon suite part-time to another hairstylist. The space is fully set up and client-ready! Great if you're looking for a professional spot without the full-time commitment.

Location: 142 High st, Suite 529 Portland, ME
Rent: $125/week (utilities included)

Availability:
• Full access Saturday - Tuesday and Thursdays (except the first Saturday of each month)
• I work Wednesday, Friday & every first Saturday

Includes:
• Chair/workstation, sink & shampoo bowl, cleaning supplies, product shelf, speaker, internet
• Bathroom on same floor open to everyone
• Waiting area for clients
• Street parking

Welcome to my page! I’m Daija, a Curl Specialist based in Portland, Me. I’ve been doing hair for almost seven years and strictly curls for six years.

•Aside from my passion for curls, I’m a full time Event Coordinator. I’ve been pursuing this new path for a year and a half and love every minute of it!
•I’m getting back into my reading era. I read 20+ books in 2024. I love everything romance and psychological thriller and hope to double the amount of books I read last year, this year.
•I’ve been on a health journey for two years, learning how to love, respect, care and appreciate my body and all it does. I’ve lost 150 pounds and hope to keep going!
•If I’m not chilling with my beautiful clients or coordinating an event you can find planning my next vacation or dancing the night away with my people!
