It’s been a while.

Some changes are happening in the very near future. Aphrodite Salon is closing in its Portland location. It’s been a wonderful 13 years.

I will be relocating to Jamie O’Sullivan Salon in the State Theater building within the next couple weeks.

I will miss my co-workers and wish them nothing but the best in their new journeys.

Last minute cancellation for tomorrow. Who needs a cut or color?

I will be back in the salon starting May 8th. I have a new (temporary) schedule because we have to work in shifts. (See photo below)

I will be texting each client the day before their appointment to remind you all, but please be advised:
- you will be required to wear a mask while you are in the salon.

-while I shampoo you, I am required to cover your face with a clean towel (sorry)

- I am required to ask you a series of questions regarding your health before I can provide services.

- Upon entering the salon, you will be required to wash your hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water.

- You will not be permitted into the salon until I am ready to provide your service, in order to keep the number of people in the salon to a minimum. And only one person will be permitted into my area at a time. You may not bring guests to your appointment. (Ugh, sorry)

-Keeping shampooing and blow drying to a minimum is being advised.

I am not thrilled about most of these, but this is what we have to do to be able to open the salon, and operate safely.

Your safety is important to me. That is why I took a Barbicide certification course today about sanitation, disinfection & sterilization. I am very excited to go back to work in the near future (fingers crossed). Until then, I hope you and your families are safe and sound.

Hairy brushes can get a little gross and they aren’t as effective in styling your hair. No need to toss them out! Soak them in hot water and dish soap to loosen up the hair, dirt and other debris. From there you can pull the hair out. If the hair is extra stubborn you can scrape the hair out with a comb or cut the hair down the center, making sure you don’t cut the bristles.
Upkeep in cleaning is pulling the hair out weekly.
