2. It’s an IPL treatment—not a traditional laser. IPL uses broad-spectrum pulses of light to target specific chromophores in the skin. Lumecca Peak is designed with increased optical power and shorter pulse duration compared with standard IPL systems.

3. Your skin may look worse before it looks better. After treating pigmentation, spots can temporarily appear darker before they gradually shed and fade.

Alison McNally, BSN, RN has worked in aesthetic medicine in the Portland, Maine area since 2006. For over 20 years, she has dedicated her career to providing patients with personalized, safe, natural-looking results utilizing dermal fillers, neurotoxins, lasers, and medical-grade skin care treatments with consistency and expertise. Alison remains current with the latest techniques, products, technologies, and safety recommendations, learning from top national and international innovators and leaders in the aesthetic industry. She prioritizes honest, compassionate care and values the trusting relationships she continues to develop with patients. Alison hopes to obtain her family nurse practitioner license and is currently finishing her advanced practice nursing degree at the University of Southern Maine. Outside of the office and school, she enjoys time with family, travel, and much of what the Maine outdoors has to offer, along with Portland's extensive food and cultural scene.
