Dear clients, unfortunately I will not be seeing clients for at least 3 months. I fell and broke my leg. Surgery is scheduled for Friday and I wont be able to apply any weight to that leg for at least 10 weeks. Odessa will be able to take care of my clients for now. Its been awhile since I posted anything personal but as an aesthetician I felt this was important. A few months ago I noticed a small white dot on my forehead. Honestly I thought it was just another broken capillary but the reason I had my doctor check it out was because it would bleed sometimes when I washed my face. Turns out that innocent looking red dot was basal cell carcinoma. Talk about a surprise! I wear sunscreen on my face every day and Im pretty careful about sun exposure...but not perfect.
Because its a slow growing cancer it took awhile to get in for Mohs surgery but today was the day. I couldnt be happier with the team at Interstate Kaiser and all of the other patients there were so supportive. It was like a Mohs club in the waiting room. Lol.
Anyway...Im just here to say that I am not invincible. It got me...and it can get you too so please please please continue to wear a good quality sunblock, reapply, wear a hat, and never ever tan in a bed. I will forever have this ugly scar on my forehead most likely because I thought I had to be tan in my younger years. Its not worth it friends. This hurts, its inconvenient, and Im sure my bill will be expensive. Enjoy that beautiful sunshine but be smart about it :)
