This evening I had one of the most magical moments of my life. A spotted fawn stood alone at the edge of the cornfield in the rain. I stepped outside onto the front porch slowly and quietly, and instead of runningβ¦ it walked toward me. We βtalkedβ for almost two minutes. You can hear it mew back at me around 0:56. At 1:40 it ran into the corn, probably back to its mama. Iβm still in awe. A baby deer walked toward me in the rain and answered when I spoke. I donβt have words for the feeling. I swear this fawn was out here telling me its whole life story.
