Revolution Fitness
Bill and Jon, the cofounders of Revolution, have a passion for physical fitness, nutrition and giving back.
Revolution Fitness is a newly formed nonprofit in Southern Maine, aimed at helping first responders and military personnel with their physical, nutritional and mental wellness. Our goal is not only to help those who become memebrs of Revolution Fitness, but by taking care of those who join, we plan to help heal those closest to them who were also affected by the ripples caused when their loved ones sustained and endured the traumas that changed their lives forever. By building stronger bodies and forming a community of those who have also endured these same situations in our facility, we know we can create stronger minds for those who are willing to make that next step into taking control of their own health and wellness. These men and women have given all of themselves in saving the lives of others all over this world, we belive it’s their turn to let us take care of and help them. Bill spent 24 years in the medical field serving many walks of life in trauma facilities all over the country. Jon is an Army vet and physical trainer, who did a tour in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. Both men are driven to see our first responders and military personnel get the care they deserve with the attention they need to help them reach their goals in a whole body approach. At Revolution Fitness we know that life can be down right impossible at times and that’s without having g issues like PTSD or adaptive needs. We are here to let the men and women we serve know that no matter what kind of day your having, our doors are always open to you and if what your looking for is camaraderie then you’ve found the right place. From physical fitness to Ayurveda yoga and 12 step work, Revolution fitness is focused on healing the entire body one piece at a time. So if you’re one of our countries amazing hero’s, even one who refuses to consider themselves one. Come check us out and let us help you see that there is a life outside there you’ve been looking for. One filled with connection and adventure, to be lived side by side with those who know just how you feel.

The hardest lessons are often the ones we spend years teaching other people.
I encourage people every day to trust God, surrender their will, and rely on His strength instead of their own. Then life has a way of asking one simple question.
Do you actually believe what you’ve been telling everyone else?
The last few days have reminded me that being the one who helps others doesn’t mean you’re exempt from needing help yourself.
Sometimes the strongest thing we can do isn’t pushing harder. It’s stopping long enough to admit we’re carrying things God never asked us to carry.
Pressure has a way of exposing where we’re still relying on ourselves instead of fully surrendering to Him.
If you’re in a season that feels heavy, don’t mistake that for God abandoning you. Sometimes He’s simply teaching you to depend on Him more deeply than you ever have before.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5–6
If you’re carrying something today, don’t carry it alone. Reach out. Ask for prayer. We weren’t called to fight these battles by ourselves. I’m praying for each of you, and I’d appreciate your prayers for me as well.

My name is Bill Merchant, CEO and Co-Founder of Revolution Fitness.
Almost a year ago, I could barely work out. I was dealing with unexplained tendon pain, muscle aches, fatigue, and even cardiac symptoms that nobody seemed able to explain. After extensive testing through the functional medicine office where I work, Med Matrix, we discovered that Lyme disease was likely at the root of many of the issues I was experiencing.
I’m not sharing this for sympathy. I’m not looking for people to feel bad for me, cheer me on, or tell me how inspiring I am.
I’m sharing it because I want people to understand something.
At Revolution Fitness, we don’t just talk about the things that can change someone’s life. We live them. We do them. We walk through them ourselves.
Over the last six months, I committed to doing the work. I addressed mineral deficiencies. I corrected vitamin deficiencies. I focused on recovery. I changed my habits. I stayed disciplined when progress was slow. I even utilized peptide therapies as part of my healing journey. Through consistent effort, I was able to restore areas of my health that many people are routinely told can’t improve naturally.
The question I have for you is simple:
How badly do you want it?
When you say you want to feel better, do you really mean it?
Are you willing to do the hard work when nobody is watching?
Because there was a time not long ago when I couldn’t even perform a simple bicep curl. My hand couldn’t hold the weight because of the pain and weakness I was experiencing.
Tonight, I had one of the best workouts I’ve had in a very long time.
Not because I got lucky.
Not because someone saved me.
Because I refused to quit.
If you believe you can’t, you’re right.
But if you’re willing to dig deeper than you’ve ever dug before, if you’re willing to stay committed when the results aren’t immediate, and if you’re willing to put in the work day after day, then what is possible for you is far greater than you can imagine.
The sky isn’t the limit.
Your willingness to keep going is.

Sometimes the people who spend their lives helping others are the ones carrying the heaviest burdens.
Many veterans, first responders, and caregivers know exactly what this feels like. You spend so much time checking on everyone else that eventually nobody notices you’re struggling too. People see strength, leadership, resilience, and capability. What they don’t always see is the weight you’ve been carrying behind the scenes.
When life gets heavy, most of us don’t need another cliché. We don’t need someone to tell us to “stay positive” or offer a quick fix. We need someone who will listen, understand, and remind us that we don’t have to carry it all alone.
At Revolution Fitness, we understand because many of us have been there ourselves. We’ve walked through trauma, loss, addiction, anxiety, broken relationships, health challenges, and seasons where we felt responsible for everyone around us while quietly struggling ourselves.
Healing doesn’t begin when someone finally has all the answers. Healing often begins when someone feels seen, heard, and supported.
That is why community matters.
It is why we create spaces where people can be honest about what they’re carrying. It is why we believe strength is not found in pretending everything is fine. Real strength is found in having the courage to reach out and the humility to let others walk beside you.
If you’re carrying more than anyone realizes, we want you to know this:
We see you.
We understand.
And you do not have to walk through it alone.

One of the greatest mistakes we make is assuming we know someone’s story because we can see their behavior.
We see the anger, but not the trauma.
We see the withdrawal, but not the loss.
We see the missed appointments, the short temper, the lack of motivation, or the walls someone has built around themselves.
What we often don’t see are the experiences that created them.
The veteran who still carries memories from deployments years ago.
The first responder who has witnessed more tragedy than most people will see in a lifetime.
The parent struggling to hold a family together while battling their own demons.
The person who smiles in public while quietly fighting anxiety, depression, grief, chronic pain, or addiction.
The truth is that many people are carrying burdens invisible to everyone around them.
That doesn’t excuse destructive behavior. Accountability matters.
But understanding matters too.
At Revolution Fitness, we’ve learned that healing often begins when people stop asking, “What’s wrong with you?” and start asking, “What happened to you?”
That simple shift changes everything.
Because behind many behaviors is a story.
Behind many struggles is pain.
And behind many people who appear strong are battles nobody else can see.
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can offer another person isn’t advice, judgment, or correction.
Sometimes it’s simply taking the time to see them.
To recognize the weight they’re carrying.
To acknowledge that their story matters.
Because when people feel seen, understood, and supported, healing becomes possible.
And healing is where growth begins.

Some battles don’t have visible scars.
Today we honor the men and women who carried burdens most of us will never fully understand. Some gave their lives on foreign soil. Some came home carrying wounds no one could see. Some are still fighting battles in silence today.
This Memorial Day, we remember the fallen, we stand beside the struggling, and we pray for the families carrying the weight of loss.
Freedom has always come at a cost.
At Revolution Fitness, we believe strength is not just physical. True strength is having the courage to keep going, to ask for help, to carry one another, and to never leave a brother or sister behind.
For those who gave everything:
We remember you.
For those still fighting:
You are not alone.
For the families who carry grief every day:
We stand with you.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Today we bow our heads in remembrance of the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to others. We thank You for their courage, sacrifice, and willingness to stand in the gap for freedom.
Lord, we ask that You comfort every family carrying the pain of loss. Be near to the spouses, children, parents, brothers, sisters, and friends who feel the empty space left behind by those they loved.
For the veterans and first responders still fighting battles within their minds and hearts, remind them they are not forgotten. Give them strength for today, hope for tomorrow, and people beside them who will walk through the darkness with them.
Heal the wounds that cannot be seen.
Bring peace where there is turmoil.
Bring rest where there is exhaustion.
Bring light where there is despair.
Help us never take freedom for granted, and teach us to love, support, and carry one another well.
We honor the fallen.
We support the living.
And we give thanks for every sacrifice made in the name of protecting others.
Amen.

But Schanck fears the treatment may serve only as a “tourniquet” at best. “There are thousands flocking to this,” he pointed out to WND.
But according to the 20-year veteran, who has himself been diagnosed with both PTSD and traumatic brain injury (TBI), “Suicide is a spiritual matter, and to conquer it, there must be a spiritual solution.”
