I would like to take a moment to remember my dear friend and mentor, Robert Debnam.
I was 21 when I first walked into his office at Roberts of Portland Salon, and he gave me an apprenticeship position. His guidance, patience, and care as a teacher made such a profound impact on my life, more than I can truly put into words.
His skill as a hairdresser was simply unmatched. Anyone who ever sat in his chair knows just how special he was. Robert was completely authentic, understanding, kind, funny, incredibly talented, attentive, and truly one of the most wonderful people you could ever meet.
I feel so lucky that I was able to work alongside him for 15 years. He meant so much to me, and to so many others. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing him will feel his loss profoundly.
My deepest condolences to his beautiful family. His presence in my life will always be remembered, and I will carry the lessons he taught me forever. ❤️
