Celeste is new to our team, not new to hair — she came to Dreamboat already deep in her craft. She moved to Portland from the Southwest with her husband, settled in North Portland, and brought a background in dance and movement arts with her, which shows up in how she works. Thoughtful, attentive, never rushed.

She loves color and curls especially, and she’s the kind of stylist who actually wants to hear what you’re picturing before she picks up the shears. Her whole approach is built around making sure you feel comfortable, seen, and good in your hair — whatever that looks like for you.

✨Should my hair be clean when I arrive?✨

💕Short answer: it depends on what you’re booked for. Here’s how to show up in a way that sets us (and your hair) up for the best result:

➰Curly Cuts
Unless your stylist tells you otherwise—arrive with your hair detangled, minimal product, and free of kinks from clips, bands, or buns. We want to see your curl pattern in its most natural, consistent shape so we can cut it exactly as it lives day to day.

🌈Color / Highlights
Hair that’s been cleansed a couple of days prior is perfect. It doesn’t need to be freshly washed, but excessive oil or heavy buildup can interfere with how color performs. Think “lived-in,” not weighed down.

✂️Haircuts
Similar to color—hair that’s a day or two post-cleanse is ideal. We typically cleanse before cutting, but it’s helpful to see your hair in its natural state first, without heavy product or dents from clips and ties.

🦋Bang Trims
Come in on the cleaner side. Since we’re not doing a full cleanse, having your fringe sitting naturally (and not separated by oil or buildup) helps us refine the shape quickly and accurately.

🌸At the end of the day, these aren’t rigid rules—but they do help us give you the most precise, customized result possible. When in doubt, you can always ask your stylist ahead of your appointment.
