A new open-access narrative review in Contemporary Family Therapy explores a proposed model: mushroom-assisted therapy to support substance use recovery, paired with MDMA-assisted therapy to help address codependent patterns, followed by couples integration work. It’s not a clinical trial (yet), but it lays out the theory, the early evidence base, and the big questions researchers say we still need to answer.
