My mother-in-law, Nadine, passed away peacefully last Friday at the age of 91. She was a beauty from the Midwest and she welcomed me into the family with such warmth. Even though I was not born in the U.S., she always made me feel like I belonged.
We shared a love of fashion and beauty and could talk about shoes for hours. Nadine would always call me “Sugar,” in her sweet southern accent and she loved my Mediterranean cooking.
Once I had children, Nadine was an incredible source of parenting wisdom.
She had a magical touch with children. When my two month-old son was fussy, Nadine could just speak to him in her sweet voice, and he would instantly calm down and gaze into her eyes.
Some of my favorite memories are the simplest ones: sitting together over coffee, enjoying cookies, giggling, and sharing stories.
Nadine, you will be missed. I will cherish the little moments that made time with you so special. ❤️

A little look back at how Beauty by Hania went from a room in my home to my own studio, where I’ve now been for three years.

Here’s something I wish more people understood about permanent makeup: there is no universal timeline for a touch-up.
Powder brows fade differently for everyone. Sun exposure, skin type, lifestyle, retinoids, chemical peels, and other exfoliating treatments can all affect how quickly the pigment fades.
Adding more pigment before it’s necessary can lead to buildup over time, making the brows look too saturated and less natural.
If your brows are still giving you the definition and enhancement you want, there’s no reason to rush into a touch-up. It may not be time yet.

My approach to powder brows has always been less is more.
One of the biggest concerns I hear is that powder brows will look too dark, heavy, or overdone. And that’s a valid concern.
As you can see in my client’s transformation, I added definition where it was needed while enhancing her natural shape.
My goal is always to preserve your natural brow shape as much as possible while creating a more polished look.
